Sometimes, the universe has a funny way of bringing people together… Like when I stumbled upon a Facebook Marketplace listing for artist paper and ended up meeting Tina, the lovely woman behind @woolandwander 🧶 (she also happens to be a fellow Hive vendor!)

Tina, a former professional printmaker, is now focusing on her fiber arts and crochet business after a disability left her unable to keep printmaking, but she shared some of her knowledge with me—and then gifted me a treasure trove of paper, matboard, and lino for nearly free. Her generosity completely blew me away. We’re already planning a future printmaking date, where she’s going to teach me about intaglio printmaking!

It’s moments like these that remind me of the community @thehivelocal is building, where collaboration and support take center stage over competition. Thank you so much, Tina, for your kindness and for helping me feel more connected to our local art world. 💛

Check out Wool and Wander for all your fiber arts needs. Tina’s work is as beautiful as her spirit!

We had a great time at @McConkeysMarket on Saturday, September 14 🛍️ Anna Davis, our Historical Horticulturist, represented the Friends of Washington Crossing Historic Park at the Hibbs Apothecary, which sells garden inspired balms, liniments, and foraged fare 💐 Here are some photos of other vendors and guests, taken by volunteer Bill Hampton 📸
