Happy birthday to my dear friend Sönna. She’s the bestest knitter, nurse, momma, and friend around! This year’s cake was chocolate sponge, with layers of blackberry jam and a vanilla and blackberry frosting. Keep shining friend, you make the world brighter.

If you love that moment when a technique or concept suddenly clicks and everything feels easier, this year’s Yarn to Wardrobe Summit is going to be full of them.

📅Mark your calendar for Feb 17–20!

One of the things makers tell me every year is, “I learned something new I didn’t even know I needed.”

Those deep, practical skills that no pattern ever explains but every maker depends on.

And this year’s lineup is packed with exactly that kind of clarity.

➰Playing the Skein Detective: 5 Tests to Identify Mystery Stash Yarn with Sonna from @woolandwyrd
➰No math required: The small adjustments that turn every crochet garment pattern into your new favourite wearable. with Michelle from @talesofknots
➰Seams First: Planning Your Knits for a Better Finish with @shaina.bilow
➰How to Turn Unloved Projects into ‘New’ Yarn (Without Fancy Tools!) with Ashleigh from
@ashleighwempe
➰Ravelry Like a Pro: A Designer’s Guide to Mastering Search, Stash, and Yarn Adventures with Jessica from @doublethestitches

These are the insights that quietly level up everything you make 🙌

And with designers from both knitting and crochet, you’ll often get your biggest “ohhh, now I get it” moment from seeing another craft solve the same problem 🧵🪡

🎟️ Comment SUMMIT and I’ll dm you the link to grab your free ticket

If you love those aha moments that make crafting feel clearer and more confident, you’ll love this summit 💙

A visual reminder of why it's important to cake your yarn a second time! Your knitting will thank you. Tight cakes will mess with your tension, and srretches your yarn out.

✨The Dustwoven Shawl in knit and crochet versions are HERE! 😍 The final piece of our 2025 advent project is to make the pattern available for you!
The Dustwoven Shawl is available as a downloadable pdf in knit OR crochet and uses 4 full fingering weight skeins (or 24 minis) to make a stunning shawl with a sweeping sillhouette and color fade.
These patterns are for adventurous beginners and are perfect to cozy up and work on while we count down the winter days.

And we have kits! Sometimes making fades can be a little mind boggling so I made a couple choices that might help you out. 🫶

Shop for the Knit and Crochet Pattern as well as yarn kits here:

Sönna of Wool and Wyrd and Britt of KnotBadBritt, thank you for going the extra mile making patterns that compliment each other; and really digging into the entire story of the 2025 Winter Solstice Advent with me. 💕

I still have a few inches to go on this skirt 🤫 , but the nice thing about crochet is I can just cut my yarn, wear it as is, and come back to it later 😂.
•
The Dopamine Skirt by @knittingtipsy (in testing) is such a perfect mindless crochet WIP. I will be sad when it’s over! I am using the @hobbii_yarn Twirls Shadows.
•
The Thicc Witch Hat by @woolandwyrd is available now and uses a super bulky yarn. I held @lionbrandyarn basic stitch double.
