I am a member of @wicklowcraftfoundation and @made_in_wicklow and coincidentally they both have upcoming exhibitions in Bray, overlapping by one week.

I will have sone felted artwork on display for sale and my new piece Stone Dress which is a hand felted and seamless, made in one piece garment which is a representation of how rocks and stones have been a significant part of human life for thousands of years. We have used rocks and stones for ritual, burial, land markers, field walls, decoration and dwellings. Aligned with the sun, moon and stars, positioned in the most beautiful places with panoramic views, standing guard. Made with Wicklow Jacobs wool with lichen and moss details from recycled yarn and @kerrywoollenmills fibre. Wicklow Wool processed by Katarina @woolstoreireland

Drop in to see the exhibitions. Details on the fliers.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table at Midlands Fibre Festival on Sunday — you’re an absolutely brilliant bunch. ❤️

It was so lovely to finally put faces to your names, chat wool, compare fibres, talk spinning plans and generally enable each other’s stash-building habits.

One of our favourite things from the day was seeing so many new spinners catching the spinning bug. There is something very satisfying about watching someone pick up their first spindle from @the_spindle_tree… and then immediately realise they obviously need some wool to go with it.
We were more than happy to help with that part. 😄

So if you went home from Athlone with a new spindle in one hand and Sound of Spinning fibre in the other, we hope you’re already plotting your first spin. Welcome to the rabbit hole. It starts with one spindle. We take no responsibility for what happens next.

Thank you for all the chats, laughs, squishing, questions, purchases and lovely feedback. Days like this are exactly why we love doing what we do.

~ Woolstore Socks: Take II ~

These woolly bundles make me smile…every time 😁
Just look at these colours, all naturally dyed 😍 Obviously, new colourway requires new pair of socks 😊
This time I’m repeating these shades 3 times within each sock and keeping the toes brown as I did in the first pair.
Can’t wait to see how these lovely colours stripe up 😃

Sending off my crocheted contribution to @woman.in.wool community art project (St Brigid’s Cloak), to support the Irish Wool Industry. Women knitters and crocheters have been asked to send her 8x8” pieces of knitted or crocheted pure 100% wool so she can piece them together as a St Brigid’s cloak. The purpose is twofold: to raise awareness of women’s craft as art and to raise money to help support the struggling Irish wool industry.
Fellow knitters and crocheters, please consider joining the project by checking out her IG posts.

Day 10 of Seam Collective's Sept Textile Love Challenge.

(I know - fell off the wagon of daily posting...as I just did not feel like sharing anything. THIS happens.)

Anyway, today's prompt is 'Low Impact'! I wonder what other Textile Artists and Makers will share!!?!

In the video, I mentioned an online presentation by Munster Technical University's "Wool Hub for Research & Innovation which has an upcoming webinar exploring how research, enterprise and collaboration can unlock new opportunities across the wool value chain."

I will link to the sign up page in my comments and in a Story!
