Happy #omlfeaturefriday - Today we are getting to know @woolwala !!

I am Eshani aka Woolwala and I am a knitter living in London! I started knitting in 2019 (pre lockdown knitter over here!) because I felt like I was always picking up my phone instead of paying attention so I was looking for something else to do with my hands! I bought a blanket kit from Wool and the Gang and loved it!

My main goal with my knitting is to try and do it as sustainably as possible mainly through using what I have, buying only what I need, and paying attention to where/how things are produced! I am not perfect yet but I am trying! Through my page, I also showcase some of my favourite thrifts and everyday sustainability tips (but mainly stick to knitting). Knitting and slow fashion is a huge part of the sustainability conversation which is why I love it so much!

Q: You can only eat one food throughout your lifetime, what is it?
A: Potatoes - you can literally make so many things with potatoes and also I couldn't live without fries!

Q: What's your favorite movie?
A: Animation movie - The Lorax
Other movie - She's the Man

Q: If money and time were no object, what would you be doing right now?
A: I would want to just be volunteering with animal conservation charities and trying to better the world (and knit all the time duhhh)

Q: What is one important skill that you think everyone should have?
A: Everyone should know how to use Excel - it is literally so useful for so much!

Q: What are your favorite kind of crafting tools? (knitting needles/crochet- wood, metal, plastic, etc?)
A: I knit faster with metal knitting needles but I love the feel of wooden ones!

Hiiiiii long time no see!!! After taking an extended break from Instagram I’m back, and so happy to be here! Here’s a bunch of stuff I’ve done over the past 2.5 months while I’ve been away! 💫💫
.
1 - I had dinner with my fave @woolwala, she’s the sweetest and best photographer
.
2 - knit a whole freaking slipover
.
3 - unravelled a sweater I’d spent 4 months working on 🙃
.
4,5 - started new wips!!!
.
6 - FINALLY graduated uni wearing a dress I made myself 🥹
.
7,8 - more sewing
.
9,10 - made a solid effort at wearing my makes, despite the heat
.
If you’ve got this far, thank you for supporting me and sticking around!! I love you all 💖

Learning from @woolwala about sustainabile fashion.
Frogging a sweater made with Billie Jean yarn to create something new 💫

Billie Jean Yarn is also made from pre-consumer denim scraps and offcuts which are ground back into fibres and re-spun into yarn.

So it's a win win in my books! Recycled yarn for a recycled project.
