#SJGCOnTheMove 🐍 | Two Rattlers named Teen Vogue College Correspondents!

Journalism seniors Ariyel Scott and Kennadi Gaither have been selected for the 2027 Teen Vogue College Correspondents Program, bringing SJGC storytelling to a national platform. 👏🏾

Ariyel brings experience as a social media manager for Word Around Campus and as a legislative aide in state representative offices. Kennadi previously worked as a MARCOM Design Writer for Apple and currently serves as associate news editor for The FAMUan. 📰

#SJGCOnTheMove 🐍| Congratulations to Justin Jordan, selected for the inaugural Inclusive Excellence in Journalism (IEJ) Fellowship at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism! 🎉

Only six undergraduate students from across the country were chosen for this historic first cohort, and Justin is repping FAMU and the SJGC in a major way. 🐍🧡💚

You may know Justin as Editor-in-Chief of The FAMUan or as a host of Word Around Campus. Now, this senior journalism scholar is taking his skills to the next level through one of the most competitive investigative journalism programs in the nation. 📰✊🏾

The IEJ Fellowship immerses fellows in investigative reporting, data journalism, multimedia storytelling, AI in journalism, and more, all while completing their regular coursework. Fellows also receive scholarships to complete an investigative journalism certificate program through the Cronkite School. All expenses, including attendance at the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) conference in Washington, D.C., are covered through the Scripps Howard Foundation. 💡

We see you, Justin, you were built for this moment! 👏🏾

“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.“ Proverbs 31:25

Started as a young girl repping her hometown, grew into a multi-sport athlete, helped coach the next generation, and now I tell the stories behind the game.

Today, on National Black Women In Sports Day, I am filled with gratitude and pride for every chapter of my journey — as an athlete, a mentor, and now a storyteller at FAMU, where I serve as a sideline reporter, social media strategist, and anchor. Here’s to breaking barriers, making plays, and showing what’s possible. 🤍💐
