POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Monday was print signing day for a rather secretive project. I was lucky enough to be chosen to illustrate the Steelers Gameday Poster for the 2026 Hall of Honor game against the Bengals. Thank you to Keaton Engle and the Pittsburgh Steelers @steelers for selecting me. Huge thanks to Kim Fox @workerbird and Dan Rugh @dan.rugh @cwpress for helping me with the process from start to finish. Their support of the many illustrators producing Gameday Posters is incredible and appreciated. Finally, thanks to @raff_printing_inc for the quick tour of their plant and the beautiful prints. Prints will be available soon at the Steelers Pro Shop at Acrisure Stadium and on the Steelers website. Congratulations to all of the talented illustrators chosen this season. #herewegosteelers #pittsburghsteelershallofhonor #pittsburghsteelers @pghsocietyofillustrators #iupartalumni

Plum ice cream is out in stores now! 🌸 But it won’t be for long. We make all of our fruit flavors from real fruit and most of it locally grown. But the late freeze this spring really messed up stone fruit…so almost no peach, cherry or plums in the state! We used the last of our reserves for one beautiful batch of plum ice cream. So if you see it grab it!!

No 5 in the faves series. No lengthy explanation on this one. A collab with the amazing @workerbird from…eek…23 years ago! As I recall, Kim did the block print in the skirt, we worked together on design, and I did the type. Those were some good days @luredesign. #gigposter #posterdesign

Starting in 2010 or 2011, back in their historic Strip District location, we photographed Contemporary Craft's annual Out of Hand! fundraiser for a few years. At some point, we took a break, they moved, and we continued to be fans and supporters. Aside from offering wonderful classes and having a gorgeous retail store, they consistently mount some of the most beautiful and thoughtfully curated exhibitions anywhere.

2025 was a big return to CC for Porter Loves! We started out working on their online store and a social campaign around retail sales, and ended up photographing Out of Hand! again, the ribbon cutting for their new building, workshops in their newly renovated studios, and the unveiling of a new donor wall installation by one of our fave local artists, Kim Fox (pictured above). Honestly, that's not all, but you get the idea.

What we love about working with Contemporary Craft:
🥳 They trust us. I think I've said before that we don't expect everyone who works with us to take everything we recommend at face value. But there is a particular joy in working with folks who respect our expertise.
🎨 INSPIRATION. There is art everywhere in their buildings, including artist-designed wallpaper in the bathrooms! The organization's age and prestige mean it works with some of the most accomplished craft artisans in the region and around the world. There's always something to ooh and aah over.
🫶🏻 It attracts the best people. After working with them off and on for 15ish years, we've had nothing but positive, supportive, and respectful experiences with the different folks that work there. Friends have shown work in exhibitions there, participated in regional residencies, have their work for sale in the shop, and teach classes to spread their enthusiasm for craft. Every time we hear about or see someone new that we know and love connected to the organization, we think, “Yep, that tracks.”
