I want to pick a pumpkin directly off the vine; is that too much to ask? This fall family-friendly Mercer County, New Jersey day trip itinerary is based around that. This was exactly midway between us in Philly and my sister’s fam in Brooklyn. I really nailed it. Swipe for the details & save if this seems like your kind of day ➡️

Winter is coming, I am all about making the most of fall with days like these, are you with me?

This fall family-friendly Mercer County, New Jersey day trip itinerary: Stop 1

📍@hickorycornerfarm is such a GOAT, not only can you pick pumpkins and apples, but also corn, brussels sprouts, eggplant, peppers, and zucchini. Plus a corn maze, tractor rides, and a playground, and its just $3 admission. It’s very much a real farm. This was my third time here. PYO changes with the seasons, of course.

Saturday was gorgeous in NJ so we took a ride with Dio to Working Dog Winery. They were having their fall festival with food trucks, live music, wine tastings, vendors and of courses 🐶! I enjoyed my flight of 4 wines with a tasty charcuterie box! The wines I tried were:
1. Traminette 2024 - notes of honeysuckle, lychee and apricot. 2. Equinox Rosé - 100% Sangiovese with notes of white cherry, rhubarb and marjoram. 3. Chambourcin 2023 - notes of raspberry, cranberry, 🫐 and earl grey tea. 4. Cabernet Franc 2023 - notes of raspberry, 🍒 coke and baking spices. They were all very good but I am partial to the Chambourcin 🍇 from NJ. Dio loved saying hello to people and other dogs and we enjoyed this beautiful winery. It’s a must visit!! #newjerseywineries #chambourcin #fallfestivals #newjerseywines #workingdogwinery
