Travel + Leisure just named Hood River America’s Best Small Mountain Town for 2026 and if you live here, you probably already understand why. There aren’t many places where a summer day can mean getting on the river, hiking to a waterfall, biking through the Gorge, and catching live music downtown... only to trade it all for skis once winter rolls around. It’s the windsurfing and wing foiling. The endless trails. Mt. Hood just down the road. The river. The orchards. The restaurants, local businesses, and community that give this place its personality. We spend a lot of time talking about what it’s like to live in the Gorge, and recognition like this is a pretty great reminder that the place we get to call home really is something special. We may be a little biased, but we think they got this one right. 🤍 And if Hood River has been on your list of places you could see yourself calling home, we’d love to help you get to know the area and find your place here. WHAT I DRINK IN A TYPICAL WEEK — As someone who posts about craft beer daily 🍻 Although I consistently post otherwise, I think there is still a misimpression that I drink daily and/or a lot in general. I get how it can look that way, but I assure you, I am not always drinking beer or alcohol at all. Here is a look at what I actually drank last week with totals at the end. The pictures of the non-alcoholic beverages were not taken last week specifically, but all the beer pictures are my actual beers from last week. Of course, some weeks are more, like if I’m traveling, have a special event, or friends in town, etc. Many weeks are also less. For example, I don’t always have something during the week, but last week, my in-laws were in town and my father in law is literally pictured on the can! Did anything surprise you? For the last two months I’ve been obsessed with creating organic shaped lights inspired by my walks in nature. Now, I’m ready to share them with you.
