Something that I don't think most understand about Behaviorism, is esp in dogs, #reactivity is often tied to emotions about specific scenarios.

Then, because dogs overgeneralize everything, if she learns "No playing tug" without specific contextual reasons or clues that she'd be able to pick up on, all she's learning is that it's not OK to Tug anywhere especially bc at any time, if she puts too much effort into it, both she AND I get punished due to noise in this neighborhood, and the fun suddenly dissipates, and she's just confused as to what she did wrong by being a dog. Could that be part of this?

Call it whatever you want, telling a dog to stop what they're doing when they're just having fun and have done nothing wrong but annoyed a human by emoting vocally, that's punishment.

She doesn't bark, but gets very annoyed when my parents are being loud upstairs and on days the cleaning lady comes bc she can't sleep and we both need rest during the daytime bc I often don't pass out till 4am when it is finally ambiently cool enough (the thermostat is set so the AC only turns on at 77 degrees, there's often a 10+ºF difference in temperature between upstairs and downstairs. Thermal Mass is VERY REAL THING. I literally just want to be comfortable...😣😭

Hopefully some of this will change if they agree to things like window tints, blackout shades, and installing dual zone HVAC, all of which I'm willing to pay for which would both increase property value, which would be a way for me to pay rent and have some control over the environment bc everything is money based rather than needs based when all of my Healthcare Providers are like 77º, over 60% humidity?! I'D DIE!

Yep. Tell that again to someone with severe, life threatening POTS, Asthma & Dysautonomia lmao 🤣. This is why my daily goals are so simple aka "Eat at least 2 meals a day."

Back on topic tho, I have to wonder if that's part of this now that I've thought about it. He won't like it, but my Dad may need to act as a Helper and reward Rosie for her playing tug of war and getting crazy with it.

Tug is her main way of helping me, but if she won't do it... I can't retire her yet! 😢 🦮
