A little life update 💚

Grateful I got to speak at She Is Royal’s 10th Annual Conference for @worldlanterns at @ucl 🎤

Honestly, what a beautiful room to be in. I’ll be real I almost didn’t make it that morning. Life had other plans but God gave me the grace to pull myself together, get there and do what I came to do.

And looking back at these photos, I feel really blessed 🥹

For the rooms. The opportunities. The people. The growth. And for the reminder that even when life gets a little tough, there’s still so much to celebrate.

Here’s to showing up, taking up space and cheering each other on. 🥂

For 10 years, we've heard your stories. Many struggled to fit in, find their voice, or advance careers, especially women from ethnic minorities and lower socioeconomic backgrounds. That's why we launched STEMM-PPALL: to break the ceiling and open doors to STEMM-PPALL. Apply by 7th of September to be part of the next cohort.

It’s taken me a couple of weeks to find the words. 💜

After months of planning, delivering our 10th Annual She Is Royal Conference and celebrating this incredible milestone, I simply wanted to say thank you.

To every attendee, speaker, host, exhibitor, sponsor, partner and the amazing World Lanterns team, thank you for making this one of our most memorable events yet.

A special thank you to our speakers: Professor Rev. George Toworfe, @iamruthconteh , Dr Gloria Oliomogbe, @jane_johnlewis, Nermeen Latif, @desthydee, @uuchey, @zeeblessed and Dr Solomon Bawa for sharing your wisdom and inspiring us all.

To our incredible hosting team, @raquel.appiah, @a.may__ , @renee.cd and @dianahmafara , thank you for bringing such warmth, excellence and energy to the day.

Thank you to our amazing exhibitors @harvestfamilyfinance @kudzkustomz @brownskingirlsnetwork and APM.

@vino.dq thank you for capturing all the beautiful moments.

And where would I be without the remarkable World Lanterns team? @miss_naki @geotoffee @mirem19 I am short for words. The sleepless nights and early mornings truly paid off!

This year’s conference was especially personal. Standing on stage with a photograph of my late father reminded me that what began through grief has become a legacy of purpose, empowering women and creating opportunities for others.

👑 She Is Royal returns on 17 July 2027 for our 11th Annual Conference. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey.
Here’s to building legacy, together. ❤️

✨ Don’t let the art of perfection stop you from the art of launching.
I’ve been there — I once held back an idea for too long, waiting until it was “perfect.” By the time I was ready, someone else had launched almost the exact same thing… even with the same name.
But by God’s grace - “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans” (Proverbs 16:3). I was able to pivot, rebuild, and keep moving forward. Lesson learnt: launch in faith, not fear.
That’s how World Lanterns CIC @worldlanterns was born. Over the past 10 years, we’ve grown, evolved, and continue to improve each day. 🌍✨
3 lessons this journey taught me:
1️⃣ Agility – the ability to adapt, pivot, and embrace change.
2️⃣ Moving at pace and in alignment with God – trusting His timing above my own.
3️⃣ Courage over comfort – stepping out, even when the path isn’t fully clear.
💡 “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

Excited to announce that our Managing Director and founder @nashescorner will be participating in @unwomenuk CSW69. Second year in a row of being part of such an amazing platform.

This is how we fight for women and girls all over the world. When each voice joins together in one room, our voice is amplified, our voice echoes.

🌟 Excited to share some amazing news! 🌟

Last month, I was honored to be selected as a delegate for the UN Women UK CSW 68 event. UN Women UK is an organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls worldwide. Being chosen as a delegate for CSW 68 means I have the opportunity to contribute to discussions and initiatives aimed at advancing women’s rights and opportunities on a global scale.

One of the key themes for this year’s event is “Invest in Women to accelerate and progress.” I am incredibly passionate about this topic because I believe that creating equity across gender and ethnicity is essential for building a fair and prosperous society. By investing in women, we not only uplift individuals but entire communities and economies.

While International Women’s Day may be just one day in March, I like to think of the entire month as Women’s Month, and what better way to kick it off than by sharing this exciting news!

Over the course of this month, I will be sharing my journey and insights from the events I attend. I look forward to engaging with fellow delegates and learning from their experiences as we work towards a more equitable world.

Let’s come together to create spaces where everyone can flourish and thrive. Together, we can make a difference! 💪 #CSW68 #UNWomenUK #InvestInWomen #GenderEquity #Empowerment #togetherweCan
