🌧️☔ Rain, rain, you didn’t stop us playing today! 🌈🎨

A GREAT BIG thank you to all our lovely families who braved the weather to join us for our Stay & Play at the World Museum! 🥰 @worldmuseum_

We had SO much fun exploring the @boromihq bags and schemas, using bags and balls/ straws to transport across the room… discovering all the wonderful ways children learn through play! 🧩✨

We also got creative, using washi tape and loose parts to design our very own masterpieces! 🎨🖼️

👀 Take a peek at our amazing creations! We think you’ll agree we’ve got some budding little artists! 🤩👏

We finished off with a lovely song and rhyme session using our fantastic story spoons! 🥄 🎶

Thank you for another fabulous morning of playing, exploring and learning together! 💚 don’t forget it’s half term next week so we will be back at Central Library the following week for another sing song😍💙

A Morning in Liverpool (next to the railway station)

🚅 There are direct trains between Newcastle and Liverpool Lime Street every hour. We booked the 11:24am train back to the toon so had a few hours to kill around the station this morning

☕ We visited Paper Cup for breakfast. It's a cafe dedicated to helping homeless people & all profits go back towards helping the homeless. You can also pay it forwards and buy coffee for anyone who needs one with a token scheme.

The staff were so lovely here and it had a real community feel with books, art and music. The kind of place where it would be absolutey no problem for them to charge your phone behind the counter. If you want to give something back when you visit Liverpool, I recommend popping in Our breakfast & coffee were both lush and we met the cutest dog called Blanco.

🐠 Then we visited the World Museum which is around the corner from the station and free to visit. This place is so impressive & I would recommend even as a day trip in itself. We only had an hour so couldn't do it justice but there are dinosaurs, fossils, bugs, space, an aquarium and a brilliant Ancient Egypt gallery with so many mummies and artefacts. Well worth a visit or popping in before catching your train home.

We have had lots of new followers recently so I thought we would reintroduce ourselves… we are Wonder Hub Liverpool. We are the Home Learning Environment strand of the Family Hub and children centre network & we can’t wait to get to know you all. We have lots of exciting things planned so watch this space! 🧩🎨🫟🧱📚

This is an exciting space for you parents to find fun ideas, evidence-based advice and activities to support young children’s learning and development at home through play.

Our partners @peeplecentre , @cbeebies and @literacy_trust have done the research, and together we’ve put together a real treasure trove of resources.🤩

We host sessions across the city in @worldmuseum_ & Central Library as well as popping up in more unusual spaces such as the local super market or park!

We would love to see you at our groups..🤩
