A little more about your instructor, Elizabeth from Wovenseas:

I stumbled upon weaving in college and was hooked. Color, order, technique, rhythm and numbers, just a few elements of weaving that won me over. After a few decades in the textile industry designing apparel and home fabrics I opened my own teaching maker-space weaving studio. The studio is my peaceful happy place where I share my knowledge and create handwoven textiles.

Today I am celebrating 1 year of weaving! What started as a make and take workshop in July of ‘25, turned into a month long class that September. To purchasing a gently used floor loom in October, to weaving pretty much daily today.

The bottom is my July ‘25 make and take, that was the catalyst to want to learn more. Above is my most recent work ‘fall foliage’ that I’m especially proud of because it is the first project that I designed and drafted on my own. Reflecting on the past year it is truly a gift to have found @wovenseas to learn from, ask for help and share creative space with. I am so grateful! Thank you Elizabeth! ♥️🙏🏻

Super hot day today, but it didn't stop our vendors.

They all came early to set up, they sell and serve others in the sun, of course the take down took longer because of the heat.

They did it!😊😊😊

May you all have a wonderful July 4th.

This is my first attempt at tapestry weaving, I did this under the guidance of Elizabeth at @wovenseas.
It’s based on a seaside photo on Nantucket but it could be anywhere. The small handheld loom from @hello_looms is perfect for starting to explore this new-to-me form of art. I want to weave some more!

In 2022, I was contacted by @dawsondesignassociates about the redesign of Newport’s @newportharborisland. Their vision was to highlight New England’s rich weaving tradition throughout the seaside hotel. Over the next few years, I helped manage 35 local weavers in creating 240+ coastal inspired pieces for the hotel’s guestrooms and meeting spaces. I met and connected with so many talented weavers, guilds, and amazing organizations. Hear more about The Newport Project with me during @instahga Spinning and Weaving week- My talk is Tuesday, October 7th from 8-9pm on @instahga website⛵️💛🌊
