IT’S ONLY HARD, IF YOU DO IT ALONE!

This video a snippet from @wpunj ‘s 4th annual mental health walk, where I got to serve as MC and Student Speaker. It was such an honor to share my story and testimony in front students, staff, and faculty. Thank you much Sgt. Walker for this opportunity!

It was an even greater privilege to say the name of Jesus in front of so many people.

Struggling isn’t shameful, and getting help isn’t embarrassing. The Father has given us Himself, community, and the sciences for our healing. Jesus and mental health are not mutually exclusive, but something he actually wants to heal and restore.

I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and even the effects of having ADHD. I would not be who I am today without the blood of Jesus, and the resources He has supplied.

As a last semester psychology student, and a future Licensed Professional Counselor, this topic is near and dear to my heart.

It’s only hard, if you do it alone.

Mental health looks different for everyone, but every voice matters💚

During today’s Mental Health Walk, we caught up with students and staff to hear their perspectives on mental health, self-care, and the advice they would give to others.

A reminder that you never know what someone may be going through. Keep showing up for yourself and for one another.
