Happy Birthday to a living legend, LOU HOLTZ!!

89 years old and still kickin’ butt!!! 🎉

“Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they’re making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that’s the difference.”

Now for The Main Event of the Evening on this 34 days til the Irish take on the Convicts. We honor one of the finest defensive players to ever don the gold helmet. This ferocious Jack (inside) linebacker in coach Lou Holtz’s famed 3-4 defensive scheme could pick up the trash sideline to sideline and was good in pass coverage. He brought the lumber every time he tackled the opposing ball carrier. This Jack linebacker was a 2 year starter and racked up 182 tackles. He was also one of the anchors of the 1988 National Championship Team that is regarded as one of the finest defenses in the history of college football. That year in 1988 he was a 2nd Team All-American. The 2nd of the 3 Amigos featured so far alongside Michael Stonebreaker #34 @wpritchett1
