Spec work for @livingheywell A few years ago, I hosted a hands-on workshop for photographers and videographers featuring two fully built-out spec shoots. One of them was for heywell, a healthy beverage brand I’ve seen gaining momentum over the last year and a half. Cool to see where it’s headed.

RETURN TO THE HEART 💞✨ Back in January, @leianazoe reached out with an idea—our first yoga workshop together. I immediately said YES because, honestly, how could we not?! Attending workshops played a huge role in my early yoga journey—just to give you a ballpark, we’re talking 2013-2015. Now, stepping into the role of the one leading a community through movement felt like a full-circle moment. While this may seem long overdue, I believe it’s important to honor my younger self—the part of me who had to step away from teaching at times after earning my certification in May 2015, simply because I was unknowingly pouring from an empty cup. Over the years, I took on teaching opportunities here and there and even participated in a Karmi program at @harlemyoga . Deep down, I knew this was the path I wanted to walk, but I wasn’t fully comfortable yet—I was still finding my voice. Fast forward to Summer 2021, when I was offered a time slot at a community gym in the LES powered by @aimeleondore and @newbalance . That opportunity reignited my passion and gave me the space to refine my teaching style, rebuild my confidence, and fully step back into what I’ve always held close to my heart—all while providing FREE yoga to the local community. Fear can keep you stagnant, even paralyzed, for years—until you take a breath and trust yourself enough to move forward. I am beyond grateful to have witnessed a student-turned-fellow instructor step to the front of the mat to guide those who, like Zoe and myself, are carving out space for themselves in this practice. It was both a privilege and an honor to lead these beautiful beings through a heart-opening practice—one that offers profound teachings when we allow ourselves to surrender back to self. A gentle reminder that the answers you seek have always been within. Sometimes it just requires a step back to redefine who you are 💫 Thank you, Zoe, for trusting me to guide alongside you. March 2024 was back to back creating, just how we like it! Many of them were tests. & I love that because 5 years into my business I see the value in doing things for fun, to strengthen skills, and to keep the momentum in that making art is a way of growing. If you are looking to elevate your business or personal skills in anything. Biggest take aways that you can keep in your new year are: - Make decisions based on if there is opportunity for self love, learning, creativity and connection - Welcome collabs if you have the capacity but don’t over extend yourself. You can always try next time you have more time! - “Nothing is for nothing” if you end up coming out of an experience that didn’t serve you, then you take that and apply how you can do it differently next time.
