Some old-school 1.8T 20V dyno tuning love inbound!! 📈😍

There’s something refreshingly simple about building and tuning the VAG 1.8T 20V. Unfortunately, it seems to be becoming a bit of a dying art, with plenty of tuning companies no longer wanting to entertain them.

Not us! We’re not letting the 1.8T disappear anytime soon. 😎

They’re a well-understood, incredibly capable platform and, when the hardware is right, still hugely rewarding to tune properly.

That said, these cars are NOT getting any younger! Before chasing more power, the engine and supporting hardware need to be in good health. Give a 1.8T the attention it deserves, bring the supporting hardware up to scratch, and it’ll love you back. 👌

Modern upgrades for the platform can include:
✅ Injectors
✅ Fuel pump
✅ Turbo
✅ Inlet manifold
✅ Exhaust manifold
✅ Downpipe
✅ Exhaust system
✅ Spark plugs
✅ Coil packs
✅ Vacuum system refresh
✅ Silicone pipework

Whether it’s a mild K03/K04 setup or a full hybrid turbo build, we can build and custom dyno tune the package to suit.

BMW M135i Stage 2+ Dyno Tuning 🔥

This M135i was in with us for a custom Stage 2+ calibration, making use of an upgraded B58TU high-pressure fuel pump to provide the additional fuelling capacity required when pushing the stock setup further.

With the hardware in place, we were able to calibrate the car properly on the Dyno, optimising boost, fuelling, ignition and torque control while monitoring everything throughout the tuning process.

The B58TU HPFP is a great upgrade on these cars, removing one of the main fuelling limitations encountered as power is increased and giving us considerably more headroom to work with.

✅ Dyno developed & tested
✅ Data logged throughout

No generic flash file — calibrated, tested and proven on the Dyno.

Keep the power consistent with an AIRTEC intercooler upgrade ❄️📈

The factory intercooler can quickly become overwhelmed on tuned VAG MQB vehicles, allowing intake temperatures to rise and performance to drop—especially during repeated pulls or warmer weather.

The larger AIRTEC core provides improved charge-air cooling, helping to:

✅ Reduce intake air temperatures
✅ Maintain more consistent power
✅ Improve performance during repeated hard use
✅ Support Stage 1, Stage 2 and higher-powered setups

Available supplied and professionally fitted at PSL Performance.

Message us with your registration for pricing and compatibility.

2001 just rolled back in 😍🙌

A proper homage to Jesse’s VW Jetta from The Fast and the Furious, now running a 1.8T 20V conversion and in with us for dyno tuning.

Jaguar XKR 5.0 Supercharged dyno results are in 👀

For a 16-year-old Jaguar, it had only lost a small amount of power from factory, which is not bad going at all.

Before 📉: 486 bhp / 607 nm

After 📈: 517 bhp / 650 nm

Peak power is now back where it should be, and as far as gains go, the torque increase is bang on.

A strong result from a proper supercharged V8.

So, can you tune a VW Golf Mk7 R on E10 fuel?! 👀

The answer is yes, you absolutely can!

Once we installed the Pulsar G25-660 turbo, the world went a little crazy and fuel prices shot to the moon 🚀⛽ so we decided to ask the question…

Can E10 = performance?

Well, with just 1.6 bar of boost pressure and very conservative ignition timing, we managed:

⚡ Just shy of 420 BHP
⚡ 500 NM torque
⚡ Zero knock
⚡ Zero ignition retard

So, should you aim to run your Mk7 R on E10?

Absolutely not 😂

BUT… what this does prove is that making strong, reliable power on E10 is completely possible with the right setup and calibration should you really want that E10 life 👌
