There’s a lot more behind @wrightsbakeryri than the pastries and ice cream so many of us know and love.

I recently got a behind-the-scenes look at Wright’s Dairy Farm with @NewEnglandDairy and learned how five generations of the same family have continued to adapt and grow the farm since 1914.

From the cows and milking process to processing their milk right on the farm - and hearing how the bakery and, more recently, ice cream became part of the family business - it was so interesting to see a side of Wright’s I’d never seen before.

And I loved that more than 100 years later, it’s still a working family dairy farm at the heart of it all. That kind of evolution is part of the dairy farming story across New England. Farms are constantly adapting, whether through new technology, different business models, agritourism, and more. These families continue to find new ways to stay viable for the next generation, all while caring for their cows, their land, and their communities.
