The homie @j.d.isip was sweet & generous enough to invite me to read @ the release party for his 2nd #poetrycollection #reluctantprophets out now by @moontidepress @ericmorago 🚀🚀🚀

My friends @cj_mattison_fiction @ruthheilgeist @mridleyelmes helped me tremendously in shaping #AmericanKaijuBlues into what it is now, I’m elated & honored that #darkwinterliterarymagazine #darkwinterlit will be publishing it next week, & very grateful to @writervicyates for recording my little #scifipoem 🫶🦖🛸

Wearing the persona & experience of a gargantuan monster reaping havoc in #losangeles was a blast to explore in the piece, & it is thrilling & a huge honor to have my work land well w/ so many people I look up to, including but not limited to @poetryidiots @lnwebre @poetic_moni @santafewritersproject @katiemanningpoet @hyperphantom @dentonloving @darkwinterlitmag 💞💞💞

Much more to come soon, stay up & get creative & happy trails, everybody 🦑📝🔓

Marked some milestones over the last week. The @awpwriter conference was in town, and at that moment a portal always opens and things become possible (if tiring!):

🎙️ I got to make a dream show at @precinctdtla with my absolute idol poets — @joopertrooper took such good care tying us up to create something truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Thanks to those who graced the stage: @skailight @yazminmonetwatkins @samsax1 @speakdeadly @thenatelovell @hieuminhbeing @pastichequeen @frankiesayspause @yosirey @dorothyrandallgray @gus1679 @schwartz.lloyd @randallmann @bengarciapoet @chenchenwrites @michael.j.whittle & Armen who isn’t on socials.

🏳️‍🌈Presented a panel on our @pridepoets project and got to think such smart thoughts about poetry and self and becoming with @carlasameth @papapicante @writervicyates & @bokchoy_baobei

🎼Was pleased to help @toddbosspoet & team get the Disney Concert Hall in partnership with @lamasterchorale for a mixer of composers and poets that sparked some long overdue conversations toward collaboration!

🎓Got to see my former UCLA @writersprogram students, many for the first time in the flesh, and celebrate their journeys as writers — also see my admin, who I only ever interact with over email and are just good smart people doing good smart things.

🕺🏽Took the poets out on the town! An act for which I am still paying penance. It was gorgeous and fleeting to see these two worlds of mine collide and the pose @samforbreakfast is making in the tree really expresses that feeling better than language can.

📖Was grateful to read for @typewriters_anonymous & @djashtrae17 & attend @jencvoice & @perverse4verse readings and participate in these writing communities.

Okay, fast forward to the final pics — Sunday absolutely being a slug with @jennaalansari who just arrived from London so her jetlag matched my exhaustion & she knows all good things & has face masks.

& the child’s drawing of the burning city — tomorrow I’m back with 5th graders who I’ve been working with to write songs about Los Angeles & resilience with @lamasterchorale. Quote: “even if you can’t, you have to try.”

Packed the tail-end of March w/ amazing people, #poetry, #running, & growth all over the place 🥳

Mountains of gratitude & high-5s to @j.d.isip @moontidepress @poetryidiots @lnwebre @ericmorago @poetic_moni @santafewritersproject @writervicyates @katiemanningpoet @hyperphantom @dentonloving @darkwinterlitmag @poeticresearch @full_nommunism & many more for everything you do for the #poetrycommunity, I’m thrilled to see my writing game grow through in-person connections & events, & I can’t wait to see where the journey leads me next 🫶

More appreciation & hugs to everyone @ @wolf_packrunners @cezamee @tkmatsu @aine_rua @runwithramp @silverlaketrackclub @andy.padilla.3 @runwestadams & many more friends & teammates for sweet sweet mileage on road, track, & trail, my sharp keeps getting sharper, & I’ll be putting it to great use @ the @crenshawmile 1-miler on Saturday 4/5 (referral code in bio, please & thanks so much) 🏎️

Sending all the #happymonday vibes from here, #payattention & close March strong, everybody 🐬 @gregwriting

What a fun albeit exhausting weekend. Worked three days of the AWP Writers festival but also got to see a ton of people, experience perhaps the best literary event i’ve been to, @rentpoet ‘s Tongue Tied queer Poetry reading with shibari rope tying, and i got to snap a pic with @atsukocomedy at the @matteolane show.

Celebrating @moontidepress’s release of my friend @j.d.isip’s new #poetrybook #reluctantprophets last night was a geyser of greatness w/ many, many highlights including, but not limited to:

- Catching a photo of @poetic_moni’s #hairflip during 1 of the best readings I’ve seen 💎

- Finding new #poetfriends in Monica (repping @santafewritersproject like a champion) @poetryidiots @lnwebre @ericmorago @katiemanningpoet @hyperphantom @dentonloving & many more 🥳

- Riffing on ghosts & world-building in fiction vs. dialogue power in scripts w/ @writervicyates who was also sweet enough to film my reading, thanks again 🙌

- Getting to read & receiving amazing praise for my #poem #scifipoem about the life of a #kaiju in #losangeles “American Kaiju Blues,” which @darkwinterlitmag is publishing next month, I’ll share the video soon 🦖

Huge thanks & hugs to J.D. for being an artist’s artist in being a leader, creator, educator, & source of support for the #poetrycommunity & me personally in my own artistic journey, you’re the best, my dude, keep it up & thanks again for the opportunity to share my work & my own copy of #reluctantprophets 🫶

Hope everyone is in as positive a place as possible this weekend, stay up & get creative & happy trails, everybody 🎸 @gregwriting

One of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time was being apart of “For The Love of DILFS” season 3! I can honestly say it was worth it all. The cast, the crew and the production company @daddytv made this journey memorable. Can’t wait to see who has next…season 4.
