today I read my poetry in a room full of (mostly) strangers. this makes only the second time I've shared my work in an open mic setting, and only a couple people have ever even seen what lives inside of my notebook. as I sat listening to others share, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. I left feeling inspired and ready to put pen to paper for the next one. such a special day for me 🥹

Barefoot & Free Yoga Festival 2025 - the full magic of this event in undescribable, but only with singular adjectives - energy - connection - release - love - purity - emotional rollercoaster - peace - harmony - compassion - clarity.

I was given the opportunity to give free medical intuitive readings to attendees (we did almost 50), and while I feel super blessed and honored, I am recuperating ten-fold. 💆🏽‍♀ There were so many people looking for healing and growth. It was an honor to hold space for you. 🧡

My heart is full and I have been working on reintegration and rest, both for my physical and emotional self.

I have done some journaling, but need to dive deeper and hope to carve out some much needed time for that this week. 📜

Both sessions I attended (spinal energetics and breathwork) were powerful and transformative. They both brought me such clarity and visions of lifetimes forgotten. Thank you Candice, Kourtney, Amanda and others for your guidance & support during the sessions. 🥰

Yesterday I had the privilege to be one of the vendors at the first annual Flat River Pride, and it was by far my favorite Pride festival so far.

The volunteers & organizing committee really poured their hearts into this event and you could feel the love radiating from the space we were occupying

I can only imagine what’s to come for this small town annual pride festival, considering the first one was a complete knock out 🥰

Beyond grateful to be a part of this & get to share it with my humans & all the beautiful souls I met

"Who are we but minuscule beacons each of us use to navigate the dark waters of the world? And yet we are still in the dark, gone with the wind and to the edge of knowledge which can never satiate us.”

As I reflect on this year I find myself in a puzzling place mentally. With a largely fulfilling year of reading behind me, and a bookstagram account that is giving me more motivation to read and write ahead of me, I am grateful to everyone I have met here and interact with on a daily basis. I appreciate you. 🫶🏼

With that said, I know this community is a place where we lift each other up but it seems to be the case that sometimes the weight of the fiction we read can take its toll. And I believe that's its purpose, to stimulate us and our understanding of the truth of reality. We are the eternity of the stories we read, the growing vitriolic analyses of the world around us. But if we don't read them we are bound by the chasmic emptiness of the world which swallows us without consent.

A struggle with mental health has had its grip on me in 2024 and going into 2025 I feel the weight of it pressing me into a vicious mold, one of fear and certain yet unknown, delineated and unrevealed annihilation. I feel every edge of the mold as I am pushed against the edges of it against my will. It is dark and I can't see it fully, with all its ins and outs, with its sections of confusion and struggle—the ghost of prediction I reach into the seemingly endless void with useless and vertiginous.

But I have some measure of hope for the future, one where I am, for lack of a better term, busy. With reading, writing, engaging, and growing in my state of being. Becoming, not just being.

Here's to a 2025 of better, of gaining, of hope—because we all need it, more than we know.
