12th July over the fence crashed king street crawl

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I finally got to perform CRUSHED! I wrote this when I turned 19 and had some sort of age crisis because I hadn’t achieved all the goals and dreams that I’d promised myself I would by 19. It’s satirical but also very honest.

I’m singing about the pressure to be successful at a young age while also needing to remain nonchalant about it. My old managers used to tell me that I was “desperate” and “banging down the doors” because I was very driven and had high goals for myself so the lyrics flip between being playful and tongue-in-cheek (joking about the situation) and being very real.
I was also battling this ridiculous time pressure I had put on myself through comparison to other artists my age and this ever growing need to “make it”.

The song ends with a full 180 realisation that it’s all just the experience of growing up. I added the outro a year after writing the initial song because my perspective had changed (it even has Nan’s voice giving me some advice). I now see getting older as a wonderful thing and know myself more and more each year while still connecting with these lyrics that 19 year old me wrote.

Thanks again @moodontheroof for having me!! And for my awesome band @giacbenvenuto and @wwillbaker <3

A BIGSOUND Shack Interview with @hollyhebe ✨

I had a chat with Holly also before her Ones To Watch set, where we spoke all about her E.P ‘Moodring’, her recent tour, and so much more! As always swipe to have a watch!

This wraps up my interview spree for BIGSOUND 2026! I hope you enjoyed all of them and sorry it took a while to get these last few out! As always big thanks to the team at @beehive_pr for all of their support throughout my BIGSOUND experience.

#australianmusic #aussiemusic #hollyhebe

Q.1 “You’ve created this whole world around the ‘Mood Ring’ E.P, when did you realise you wanted this project to exist beyond the music?”

Q.2 “Other than the singles, what songs from the E.P were the most important to have out in the world?”

Q.3 “How have the fans responses been to those songs?”

Q.4 “You’ve said that every song feels like a different colour to you. Does that visual way of thinking help you produce a song?”

Q.5 “Congrats on the ARIA charts landing too!! What was that moment like when you found out, like where were you, what were the emotions?”

Q.6 “Your shows and your music have developed their own little community. When did you start noticing the audience experience and fans were becoming their own part of the Holly Hebe world?”

Q.7 “Is there a particular fan moment from the shows that sticks with you?”

Q.8 “How was playing in China?”

Q.9 “Question from @wwillbaker: what is your favourite chord?”
