TW: pregnancy loss
Three years ago,
on the morning of the ‘Heal Me’ single release show,
I learned my baby had no heartbeat.

It’s called a missed miscarriage.
The pregnancy has ended,
but your body is still carrying them.

I was grateful to have somewhere to put my grief.
I performed because music is where I go to heal.

‘Heal Me’ is our most-streamed release,
even when I had no energy to promote it.
I still feel its healing cry wrap around me
and my unborn babies.

Happy anniversary
to one of my creative darlings.
And to anyone carrying
any version of loss—
may you find moments of healing, too.

⚡ New Music Friday: Effi, ‘Soul Lovers (Quartet)’ — Most of us carry an undefinable sort of emptiness, shaped by our past and what we have lost along the way. Effi understands this emptiness, and fills it with sound.

It’s the type of sound that dances within the Boston singer-songwriter’s busy headspace, drawn from a life’s worth of experience and expectation, a spiritual and cultural connection to her homeland of Greece, and a desire to piece together the present with both fragments of the past and a slight hope for the future.

The emptiness becomes slightly more shallow with the release of “Soul Lovers (Quartet)”, an evocative swell of urgent art-rock out today Revivalhouse Records.

Buoyed by a string ensemble that gives the song a frenetic tension and its specter-like aura that hovers overhead, “Soul Lovers (Quartet)” is the first in a series of new releases that explores tone and expression by capturing a dynamism in sound through expressive guitarwork, introspective lyricisms, and a sweeping thematic grandeur that aims to fill the emptiness we carry with us.

⚡️ New Music Alert: Boston artist Effi releases her new single ‘Soul Lovers (Quartet)’ on Friday, October 2 via RevivalHouse Records, with a live performance video from Chillhouse Studios to follow a fortnight later.

It’s an evocative swell of urgent art-rock, buoyed by a string ensemble that gives the song a frenetic tension and a spectre-like aura that hovers overhead.

‘Soul Lovers (Quartet)’ is the first in a series of new releases from the singer, guitarist, and former chemist as she explores tone and expression by capturing a dynamism in sound through expressive guitarwork, introspective lyricisms, and a sweeping thematic grandeur that aims to fill the emptiness we carry with us.

two years ago at this exact time I cultivated the show of my dreams with a dream team for the summer solstice. it was two acts- the hero’s journey and the heroine’s journey: weaving my music and life story together in front of a live audience, with live exhibits: an art exhibit, altar, tarot readings, a collective release and intention setting ceremony, scream room, and video installation. it was one of the best nights of my life- and the way it came together really showed me when you have a clear dream the right people will rise to help you achieve it, even in an impossibly short timeline.

we have a show coming up on 7/17 in Cambridge, and it may not have all these bells and whistles but it will have heart :) tix are 1/3 gone so go grab yours now! We play at 8pm.

🎥- most of these are most def from the event badass @tanvi0210 ; the first one was a sneaky @kmartin4190 candid 🤍🤍🤍
