Escaped the wild weather for the most perfect stay at the Gardener’s Cottage. Nothing beats listening to the wind outside while wrapped up inside🤍🍂

A magical day at Wynyard Hall.

Beautiful details, considered styling and the opportunity to create something a little different in one of the North East’s most beautiful settings.

…..I reckon that’s pretty much the same thing!!!

Some weddings really do stop you in your tracks. ❤️
Last Saturday was one of those.

I was back in Durham, in a church I knew so well from my teaching days at Durham High School. Only this time, I wasn’t there with a group of schoolgirls.
I was there to create the wedding flowers for one of them!

I taught Lara PE from the age of 11. She was a fabulous sportswoman, and I remember her so well.
And here she was, all these years later, marrying the young man she’d met at school.

The really lovely thing? She hadn’t changed a bit. Still that same lovely person I remembered teaching from the age of 11….

And there I was, doing what I do every wedding weekend. Arranging flowers, checking everything was just right, then racing around with the verger after the ceremony to get the flowers packed into my van and off to the reception so I could arrange them all over again.

Only this wasn’t just another wedding.

It was Lara’s.

I spent 30 years teaching before flowers became my full-time world. And every now and again, those two parts of my life come together in the most wonderful way.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop feeling incredibly lucky when they do.

Lara and Daniel, what an absolute joy it was to be part of your day. ❤️

Anna & Sam 🤍

THIS is the kind of gallery that feels as though it belongs in a beautiful British period drama 🥹

Opulent, quintessentially British and filled with all the romance of a wedding at Wynyard Hall. An absolute dream to capture and a reminder that some settings never go out of style!

50 years ago, on 19 October 1976, Sir John and Lady Mae Hall founded Cameron Hall Developments. They named it after Mae’s maiden name, Cameron, because, in Sir John’s words, “she was as much part of the business as I was.”

Swipe through five decades of building the North East:

1986 – The Metrocentre opens, turning a power-station ash lagoon into Europe’s largest shopping centre
1987 – Wynyard Hall and its 5,000-acre estate join the family
1991 – Sir John is knighted for his work regenerating the region
1990s – Newcastle United and the transformation of St James’ Park, with Sir John’s son Douglas as deputy chairman
1995 – Wynyard Golf Club opens
2008 – Wynyard Hall opens as a luxury hotel, led by Sir John’s daughter Allison
2023 – Cameron Hall Homes launches at Wynyard, as Sir John’s grandchildren lead the business: Sarah as Chief Executive and Mark as Managing Director

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the story: our team, partners, customers and the communities we build for.

Here’s to the next fifty.
