It was an honor to speak to Ambassador Huang Ping, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in New York and his team alongside @keanuniversity President Dr. Repollet to mark the final day of the Chinese New Year in a Lantern Festival celebration. I shared remarks that focused primarily on my experience working with students at Wenzhou-Kean University. @wzkean campus offers an immersive Chinese cultural experience with American academic programs that mirror those Kean offers in New Jersey

Head Archivist field trip to MOCA, the Museum of Chinese Americans, in NYC, to see the museum and former classmate. MOCA’s been collecting and archiving artifacts, oral histories, business signs, and more for 40+ years. See pictures of Maya Lin’s design for the museum building. It’s is inspired by the tangram, an ancient Chinese mathematical puzzle. KeanUniversity #Archive #Archives #ResearchLibrary #Museum #MuseumOfChineseInAmerica #MuseumFieldTrip

Now is the final month in WKU. Many students are under great pressure during this period. The lights of buildings in WKU at night are always on throughout the night. So they need to maintain a healthy mind and brain.
Here are some tips that can release pressure.

1. Doing some daily exercise helps a lot when you are under great stress such as jogging and rope skipping.

2. Eat whatever you eat and drink whatever you want. The body is under extreme pressure. Just doing something can make you feel happy.

3. Go for a walk when you can not stand learning anymore and you can find the beautiful nature and people around you.

Eight oblong bar-shaped buildings form the base of Ge Hekai Hall, a central building on the Wenzhou-Kean University campus. The “bars” are connected by a network of exterior bridges that circumnavigate the building and act as structural braces. Each bar has a landscaped rooftop for students to use, while the surrounding landscape extends the rooftop gardens to the ground.

The #atrium in Ge Hekai Hall at Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) features a hexagonal skylight and a “wave” concept in the ceiling design. White ceiling slats meander in angular directions, creating a play of light and texture above the grand space. Design by Moore Ruble Yudell (MRY).

A drone photograph of Ge Hekai Hall in Wenzhou-Kean University, featured by @metropolismag . The building houses the university’s architecture, design and computer science programs and is designed by architect Moore Ruble Yudell (MRY) to bring the campus together. The massive central forum holds 800 seats and is “a kind of interior Piazza di Spagna” for the university.

Ge Hekai Hall in Wenzhou-Kean University designed by Moore Ruble Yudell (MRY). It was an honor to work with the architects from MRY and the students from WKU on this photoshoot!
The hall presents a modern grand portico as the southern gateway. Black, bar-shaped buildings form the structure’s three-floor base. Two white studio loft buildings flank the hall’s central forum, the warm lighting contrasting with the blue natural light at dusk.
