VCFC 6 - Wagadugu FC 2

It threatened to rain and derail the game, but the skies held back and the weather was perfect.

Our team opened the scoring but our opponents equalised and went ahead. But we finally got into a good rhythm and never looked back. There were some amazing goals in this game, @leavesleychristopher had a fantastic volley which you can view in the video. He also attempted to flick a long pass with his heel over his head while running towards goal, he failed the first time but connected the second time and even scored the goal. Nobody expected it. @aaronnraj pounced on a loose ball to score with his left foot. @x_camillusjr_154 also added to the scoreline when the ball went in off the goalkeeper. Alex who was playing on left back made a mazy run forward, played a simple 1-2 with @ong8208 and was cool as a cat to score his goal.

It was a good week of football for us. But we played with 22 players while the opponents only had a couple of substitutes. Props to Wagadugu FC who played well in spite of the circumstances. What we should take away from this game is the good attacking game we played. We moved the ball around well and pressed high up the field to win the ball back quickly, the opponent's lack of substitutes probably helped us in this. The willingness of the attackers to press and to make attempts shows the right mentality.

Let's pray for another week of good weather and good football! Win or lose, enjoy!

We finally earned our namesake!

Victory FC (2) - KRFC (1)

Aaron scored both goals. The first is another from a corner set piece while the other is a goal mouth scramble after Des heads against the post. Good win boys!

Do keep Julian from the opposing team in prayer as he hurt his knee badly after landing awkwardly.
