🥰🎄📖We had such a fun loving evening on Wednesday at @derbyunihalls making Christmas Trees using the meditative art of book folding.

🌈👩‍🎨Each individual piece of art and sculpture was bursting with personality and creative expression!!!! There is nothing I love better when facilitating a group than suggesting an idea with a few materials then providing all kinds of colourful, tactile resources to provide an expansive choice!

💥🧶❤With a table providing open ended options this leads to an explosion of ideas!!!! No two pieces were the same and captures how by being open with my approach and not driven by my own agenda how outcomes are created by intuitive creativity in just 1.5 hours!!!!

🛋🎬It was such a cosy atmosphere as we had "The Grinch" on in the background...(oh and The Grinch may have also happened on the blackboard at the end of the session!)😂💚There was also the option for non festive crafts so students could draw with a range of dry media and had the freedom to create picture mosaics from magazines with the subject/theme of their choice.

♻️💚All activities encouraged using preloved and recycled materials. From willow and log offcuts saved from workshops last year!! The buttons, lace and wool were from a charity shop. The books and magazines were collected for free from the Facebook marketplace.

🎉🥳🎊The next Creative Arts session will be on 28th January 2026 as we take a break for the festive season! Enjoy wintering, party mode and everything in between!!!❄🦊

P.S I also took along my willow star I made several years ago with my willow artist and forest school wizard of a friend @silvaleaf funny how it just happened to be on my art desk!!! (As it moves around the rooms in my house all the time!)😂⭐
