THIS SAT 10/18 🌩️ the rain is clearing, but we’re back in SD to bring the “Thunderstorm” to @underwaresd’s 2yr anniversary (track title in slide 3) + w/ some spooky-season energy 👻 TIX in BIO 🎫

played their inaugural one, so it feels full-circle to be back — and extra special celebrating my homie @waxthieves bday 🎂

Career milestone: ✅ I discovered @jamesbrown through my dj mentor Gary James (who left me his vinyl, RIP) and I’d play “I Got You (I Feel Good)” as my end-of-night track in almost every set. Fast forward to early 2025, I was humbled to meet his grandson @jasonbrownlegacy - who asked @laidbackluke to be the first ever electronic dance dj/artist to collab with his grandfather.

Luke & I worked hard on the production, pouring over the holy grail of stems from 1971, listening closely to details like the swing, and respecting the iconic artistry behind them. This rework is dancefloor-ready and a bonafide earworm.

The visuals have come together with the incredible expertise and execution of:
John Hassen - Creative Director
Ian Cross - Art & Graphic Design
Andrea Reyes - Illustrator & Character Animator
Christopher Torres - Video Production
Christian Anderson - Video Editor

A very special THANK you to the James Brown Family, @bainofyrexstnce for the wonderful write up in @billboarddance and to all of the DSPs who have embraced the launch of this project. It’s been a fun time bringing it to life, and there’s still an incredible video coming soon! @dimmak 🕺🏾
