The premiere screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the directors, writer and researcher Sheila Ngọc Phạm @birdpham, curator and artist Gillian Kayrooz, and participant Ben Nguyen.

'TALES FROM THE 2166', is a documentary series exploring Vietnamese-Australian life in Cabramatta and Canley Vale – the heart of postcode 2166. Created by Vietnamese-Australian art collective VŨTRỤ inc. and commissioned for Powerhouse Parramatta. The series follows community figures, small businesses and cultural practices across the South Western Sydney postcode area. Featuring celebrated voices including chef and artist Ben Nguyen, jeweller and seamstress Mai Anh Nguyễn, singer and MC Cẩm Hằng Lương, hairdresser Khoa Đăng Phạm and the temple community of Họ Đạo Cao Đài Sydney.

Yo peeps, Fara_Loves_Food has entered the building. I have had a break from posting, however I went to Sydney recently and had a few yummies along the way.

I lived in Ethiopia in the late 80’s. I had the opportunity there to try Injera - a fermented, spongy flatbread. I’ve never eaten it again since way back then, until I decided to visit Jambo Jambo Africa @jambojamboafrica an Ethiopian restaurant in Glebe.
.
Absolutely recommend. I love the experience of shared platters, eating this delicious African cuisine with your hand. It was super special catching up with X and J. I thrive on fam time.

We had a veggo platter and a non-veggo platter.
Pineapple ice cream served in little glasses for dessert. Was raving prior to going there about trying the African coffee but damn! I totally forgot! I must’ve been in a food coma.

We met a sassy friendly cat on the walk to the car which was cute.

7 years ago today, we found ourselves sneaking in late to a Matthew McConaughey and Snoop Dogg stoner film, too nervous even to hold each other’s hands. We also found ourselves, on that day, sneaking — or rather falling — deeply, madly, feverishly in love with each other. And to this day, 7 years later, that fervent love hasn’t dimmed an inch.

They deem 7 a holy number; I agree - I have loved you religiously, Xavier, and I cannot wait to love you devoutly forevermore 🌹❤️‍🔥

The Magical Ethereal Merlin’s Restaurant Shenanigans Episode 1 🧙‍♀️🦄

Imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered that a magical Harry Potter-ish, Lord of the Rings-ish inspired restaurant existed in the heart of Ubud of all places!
I convinced the fam to accompany me to this magical destination and they willingly complied.
.
With curiosity we explored the magic world of this very unusual restaurant, complete with card readings, gold cutlery, secret menu options, mysterious and inventive creative cuisine.
.
We had so much fun. It’s was such a wonderful night filled with laughs and hilarity ❤️ The service was top notch, the staff were so kind and attentive. To our surprise they gifted us three girls a rose each. So sweet and thoughtful.

So please do pay them a visit. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful.

There is even a magnificent giant chandelier, amazing draping live greenery hanging from the ceiling and a large knights of the round table to sit at if desired.

‘Fam Time’, my favourite time of the year ❤️👶🏻
My Mum made her famous bread and butter pudding. Tim’s favourite dessert. I think Nakisah may have helped her make it or even made it herself in line with my Mum’s recipe perhaps 🤔
It had sultanas soaked in rum in it. Served with vanilla ice cream.
