I believe everything will be ok eventually, everyone's adventure awaits either together or on our own and that's ok too

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My Dad man🙂‍↔️ In my youth, I felt I was robbed of father & son activities. It seemed like our relationship would never make it beyond the phone. This fostered a lot of anger which you always told me to keep in check to avoid reliving some of your mistakes. So I did… Then I turned 15. When we finally met face to face I knew God wouldn’t let our relationship drift.

Losing you just a lil more before my 30th birthday was something I did not see coming dawg. I’m blessed to have known you. To know that my creativity is not just an interest but a bone, a gene, and a gift, I inherited from you. I still remember you bragging about Detroit radio stations playing your song on repeat back in the day lol. The pride I heard in your voice stirred up a sense of pride in me too. For the first time I knew what it was like to actually know my father.

These past 15 years together has been an answered prayer and something that we always talked about. “Don’t worry son, our time is coming” you would always say. lol used to piss me off sometimes but being able to reflect on our memories is proof of your vision coming to fruition. Now I promise to keep your vision for my life alive. Thank you for always believing in me and encouraging me to be my best self. Personally and creatively. The best of you still lives in me and I will live to the fullest. I love you Dad🕊️

I’m currently watching the NETFLIX series YASUKE.
Not Sure If A Live Action Is In The Plans?
If So That’d Be Dope!

Lately I’ve been drawing inspiration from different cultures and the warriors that protected them.

For instance the Samurai, the honor of the Samurai is unmatched.

A lot of young black men are taught to honor codes yet the models are flawed due to selfish intentions.

As for the Samurai all live by the same code the Bushido. A set of principles seven rules as listed righteousness, loyalty, honor, respect, honesty, courage and consistency.

Regardless of how true this legend is, I’ve been more inclined to present this code to my music adding black culture to everything I learn (my interpretations that is) and expressing it through my music.

Though some of my lyrics in this track were inspired by Afro Samurai, YASUKE fits perfect to the style.

Be on the look out for more music more important dates and etc. PEACE, LOVE AND FUNK
