New York 1968 and Philadelphia 1776 have never been closer together

A late post for both of these incredible shows but I recently had the express pleasure of working on two incredible shows with two fantastic casts and crews. Technically covering a grand total of nine roles between the two shows.

The last two weekends of June I was performing in 1776 with Kings Mountain Little Theatre as the Leather Apron and u/s for the Courier and Charles Thompson. I had such an incredible time working on this show and was welcomed into the community at KMLT with such warmth and kindness. Everyone involved in this production was so filled with passion for the project and I cannot wait to trek back up the mountain to see and experience everything else KMLT will do

The second weekend of July was dedicated to CPCC’s production of Prescription Murder. Originally cast as the universal swing for the production I was only supposed to step into a role for the final dress rehearsal but due to unfortunate circumstances the original actress cast as Susan Hudson had to step back from the production during tech week. Due to this I want to send so much thanks and praise to the cast and crew for Prescription Murder who gave me so much support and grace while I was still figuring out parts of the show I didn’t get to spend a ton of time with. Thank you for all of your flexibility and adaptability and every time any of you would run lines or scenes with me backstage. Thank you Freddie for finding me all new costumes for this production, thank you Jupiter and Caleb for running things with me every time I asked with no complaint, and such a huge thank you to May and Kameal for helping me and trusting me through the entirety of tech week. It was such an honor to be a part of the show and work with so many talented and supportive people

So much love to both teams on both of these productions. You are all so so brilliant and I am so lucky to have worked with each and every one of you 💙

“I feel a little like those people who come into your office to confess I want to talk. I want somebody to listen and when you’re in this mood, you need a priest or a cop you’re available you were always available weren’t you?”

So Prescription: Murder is over. It may have had ups and downs but I could not have asked for a better experience directing my first full length show. This was beautiful and I am having trouble putting into words how much this experience meant to me. It had setbacks but the work and dedication that everyone put into this show was genuinely amazing and everyone I got the pleasure of working with, wether for the first or 17th time, have changed my life because of this show. I thank every single person who helped make this show happen. And everyone who came to see it

I also want to take a moment to thank both Kenara Hartwell and Rhianon Chandler for the dedication and navigation through the troubling times that were tech week. Kenara you are a genuinely talented actor and I am so grateful for all the effort you put into this show. Rhianon thank you for stepping up when needed you are fantastic

To my wonderful cast and crew, all my love, May <3

It’s the best day ever with all of you !!! 🧽🪼🫧

That’s a wrap on SpongeBob. To say I am proud of this project would be such an extreme understatement. This show was truly so so so much fun to work on and such an incredible piece to be a part of. I cannot believe we were able to get this entire thing together in just four weeks and I’m so grateful to everyone in the cast and crew for everything they did and all of the work that went into this project. I truly had such a blast playing this incredibly happy, high energy, bouncy, spritely, and very complex sponge with all of these incredible people and I wouldn’t change it for the world. A pretty exceptional final show as a CPCC student if I do say so myself. To everyone I’ve gotten the privilege to work with on this project and any project at CPCC thank you so much for everything. I cannot wait to see everything else you guys do. I know it’s going to be extraordinary.

So much love to everyone in the cast and crew of SpongeBob, @cpcc.drama.club, and the CPCC Drama Department and faculty. I truly cannot put into words how you all have helped me and how much you all mean to me. Thank you all so much. 💛

Signed your extremely complex sponge next door… SparkBob (as dubbed by @deboyyy06 )

🫧🫧This is weird you guys, but I liked having all you around. Hey look at all the new Friends that I have found. 🫧🫧

SpongeBob comes to an end… and I don’t even know where to begin.

This has genuinely been the most magical, fulfilling theatrical experience of my life. Rehearsals were Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, but that meant eight hours a day with some of my favorite people in the world, creating something so full of joy, heart, and laughter. We were building a show I’ve dreamed of being part of for years. A show with a character I’ve dreamt of playing for just as long.

It’s no secret that Patrick Star has always been my dream role. Getting to bring him to life was one of the greatest honors and happiest moments of my life. Exploring his character, his silly charm, his heart, his simplicity, was everything I’ve ever wanted as a performer. To love both the show and the role you’re playing is truly the dream. So thank you, Patrick Star, for letting me walk in your pink, goofy shoes.

Now for the truly sappy part.

Thank you, every single one of you, who made this show what it was. Cast, crew, directors, stage managers, choreographers, designers, you brought this colorful, chaotic, beautiful world to life. And as I prepare to step into the next chapter with the DCP, I can’t imagine a better final show to leave with.

To my fellow fish, the fish wranglers, the money hungry Krab, the villainous one-celled organism, the ever so illustrious clarinet player, my favorite land mammal, and most of all, my BFF, thank you for making this show something I can’t think about without tearing up. You gave me something I’ll carry with me always.

I will always vow and pledge allegiance to the Bikini Bottom way :’)
