Don't let anyone push you around like a ragdoll. 😤 Real stability isn't just about arm strength—it's about engaging your whole body. When you lock in your hips and legs, you take away their leverage and become immovable. 💡 Technique breakdown: Stop using just your arms. Engage your hips and legs. Stabilize yourself to keep moving. Big thanks to Jeanne TenBarge (IG: @Xbarrenj) from Peapack, NJ for the opportunity to empower the women! 🙌 Follow me for more self-defense tips and techniques! 🥋🔥 #selfdefense #martialarts #womensselfdefense #leverage #jiujitsu #peapacknj #dontbearagdoll #selfdefensetips

Stop cringing and start speaking up . In a bar setting, when a stranger puts an arm around a woman, she often cringes and stays silent, simply hoping the person goes away. However, when that same situation happens between two men, the response is usually a direct, "Get off me". It is completely okay to use that same energy to protect your personal space. You do not have to be "sweet" when someone is crossing your lines: your safety and comfort come first. Follow me for more content on personal safety and setting boundaries. The person who controls the distance controls the fight. If you keep your distance, you don't give an attacker the opportunity to grab, kick, or reach you. This space allows you to gauge the other person and move out of the way or push back if they come toward you. Staying out of range is one of the most effective ways to stay in control of any situation. Follow me for more content on defensive tactics. Interested in having these talks in your organization? Awareness is 80% of your safety. Being proactive and seeing what is around you gives you a much better chance to react. If you get a "weird feeling" about someone, take immediate action and move across the street. Don't wait to become a "deer in the headlights": trust your gut and maintain your boundaries. Size is not your limit. Every woman has the internal strength to fight back, whether she uses her voice or physical defense. While being smaller might feel like a disadvantage, your belief in yourself is what truly determines your ability to fight. Do not let the belief that you are "too small" stop you from defending yourself. Follow me for more content on empowerment and self-defense. Interested in having these talks in your organization? Your life is worth more than your shopping. During the holidays, we are often bogged down with bags, which makes it harder to react to threats. Position your items so you always have a free hand or can use a bag as a weapon if necessary. If your safety is in jeopardy, be ready to drop everything and run: your possessions can be replaced, but you cannot. Follow me for more content on staying proactive and safe. Don't let your phone make you a target. Attackers essentially look for someone who appears weak and unlikely to fight back. They want an easy target they can attack before moving on. When you are 100% focused on your phone, you have no idea what is happening in your surroundings. Showing yourself as confident and staying alert can be enough to make an attacker choose a different path. Follow me for more content on personal safety and defense. Strength isn’t found in knowing what comes next—it’s found in following your breath into the places you’ve never been, and trusting that it will guide you through.
