Being an international student can be tough. It’s not easy to move away to a completely new place, away from your family and everything you know. When I started Drexel 5 years ago, I didn’t really think it was possible to find another family for myself. Now, as I move back to Brazil to start a new chapter in my career, I realize that I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Throughout these years I met some truly amazing and inspiring people. People that made me feel like I was home, like I was truly cared for and loved even though I was so far away from my family. People who showed me what kind of person I wanted to and should be for myself and those around me. And above all, people who supported me at times when I felt like I wouldn’t be able to get up and keep going on my own. I realize now that I truly never had to do it on my own, because I had amazing people by my side every step of the way. A lot of them were temporary, some were there for most of it, and a few were there for it all (shoutout day 1s yk who you are). But every single person who was a part of these 5 years taught me something about myself and the world around me. I am eternally grateful for everyone I’ve met and all the support and love I’ve felt these past few years. And a lot of you will forever feel like family to me, no matter where we are in the world.

I return home excited about the new possibilities for my career and family. But at the same time, with a heavy heart thinking of all the amazing people from my time here that are staying behind. An instagram post can’t translate how grateful and happy I am that I got to live these moments with you guys. I hope I was able to express these feelings well enough. I’m gonna miss you all, at least until we see each other again (we will don’t worry)!!

(If I didn’t get a picture with you I apologize, these are just some from recent times. But know that I am thankful for u too!!)
