Must try iconic Taiwanese street food stall in Ximending, Taiwan.

Ay Chung Flour Rice Noodles!

Have you tried meesua before? This Taiwanese rice vermicelli is silky smooth and comes in a rich, thick broth made with bonito flakes.

It’s topped with soft chewy pork intestines, cilantro, and you can add chili, garlic, and vinegar.

It’s been Michelin recommended before, and the line can get long but it moves very fast!

To me, it’s delicious and comforting (and something I grew up eating), and I highly recommend trying it at least once if you travel to Taiwan!

They ONLY serve this dish, and your choice will be either a small or big bowl (65 NTD or 80 NTD as of last year ~$2 to less than $3 USD ).

Would you add this to your Taipei itinerary?

Round 2 in Taipei! 🇹🇼

Using Taiwan’s vibrant capital as our perfect base camp before exploring the south. Even on a drizzly day, Ximending buzzed with energy - nothing beats authentic hotpot buffet followed by sweet treats at iconic Shilin Night Market!

Explored the dazzling lights of Taipei 101 at night and discovered hidden gems at nearby night markets. Our final morning? A peaceful stroll through Huashan 1914 Creative Park’s artistic wonderland.

Short trip, BIG memories! ✨

I’ve been wanting to try @powerofmeat for years, so we finally gave it a shot but unfortunately, my youngest wasn’t feeling well, and we only had a light experience. Honestly, it was mediocre at best. We’ve had some really good Japanese BBQ around this area, so expectations were higher.

From what I’ve see sitting at the table, they might offer something in exchange for a 5-star Google review, which could explain all the glowing ratings.

We did manage to wander a bit and check out some cool street art off the main path. I was hoping to grab a bubble tea and soak in the nightlife, but instead, it’s chill time with my son watching #pokemonjourneys I wouldn’t change anything well except that he feels better. #japanesebbq #ximending #taipei #taiwanesefood

Taipei and Jiufen Taiwan Impression 🇼🇸

Good morning Taiwan🌞 In connection with the completed election in Taiwan, follow me to have a look of a few street view there.

1. Red House Theater in Taipei, built in 1908 during Japanese rule, designed by Japanese architect
Kondo Juro. It was originally a market building, ground floor serving as a department store.

2. Chiang Kai-Chek Memorial Hall in Taipei, national monument and tourist attraction, opened officially on 5th April 1980.

3-4-5. Ximending (West Gate District), shopping area in central Taipei. The area is named after administrative division Seimon-chō, which existed during Japanese rule, referring to an area outside the west gate of the city at that time.

6-7. Taipei in the evening.

8-9. Well-known food street and houses in Jiufen, a seaside mountain area in Ruifang District outside of Taipei. It was a resort for Japanese soldiers during Japanese rule.

10. Taipei 101, formerly Taipei World Financial Center, opened on 31st December 2004. The tallest building in Taiwan and the 11th in the world.
