POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Five years ago, I moved to Atlanta carrying more than boxes. I carried a deep yearning for a home of my own.

I carried a younger version of myself who grew up without much quiet. Who learned to brace for noise, to stay alert, to find peace in stolen moments instead of whole days.

The first year was a tough transition, and probably one of the hardest years of my life. Then came the building: the work, the late nights, the wins nobody saw and the ones everybody did. Some seasons were heavy. Some stretched me in ways I didn’t ask for. But through it all, I kept coming home to a space I shaped with intention.

Now, five years in, quiet is the norm. Peace isn’t something I have to fight for or wait for. It lives here: in slow mornings, in stillness, in a home that finally feels like rest.

To the younger me: we made it. We built the home you needed. Atlanta, thank you for five years of becoming. 🏡🙏🏻🌻❤️🌈

Last night I held the first gathering for #CasaDeBloom, formerly known as Bloom Room, and it was a beautiful return— may we continue to bloom in every room we enter.

A lot can change in three years and this all feels like a full-circle moment. After moving to Atlanta in September 2021, it was a bumpy start to say the least. By January 2022, I subletted my first solo apartment from someone who used to work for a friend of mine and she recognized my name in the ATL queer exchange Facebook group.

As my sublet in Apt 23 was coming to an end, a studio unit next door (Apt 21) became available. At the end of August when I found out my neighbor was moving out of Apt 23, I knew I had to jump on the opportunity to expand my living space from a studio to a one bedroom.

Last night I held my housewarming and it was such a beautiful experience. Thank you to folks who came and those who sent well wishes. Thank you Daniel, Nate, Bertaud, Kristian, and Jameson for your help with putting this casa together.

For years I yearned to build a home where doors don’t slam and peace is the norm.

Phenomenal second part of my summer 2024. Love everyone here and wouldn’t change anything about any of them. I have a gorgeous group of friends and we always know how to have fun. Family for life. 2/3
