My most favourite photoshooting (probably for my whole life) will be the Selkie one I did with @xjschk at the baltic coast.
It was 2018, I was processing a break-up, and throwing myself into those stormy waves, with a dress heavy of salt and seaweed, while embodying the powerful symbolism of the Selkie, really helped me to break free. To lay that beginning of embracing my true wild creative self. 🦭

And to this day, I always return to the sea when the world feels heavy. For it can hold the full weight of rage and anger and fear in its vast wildness, while also offering comfort in the soft play of the seals in the waves or the resilient life in rock pools.
I grief a world we thought we would have when we were children. It is so important to feel that anger, to let it roam free like the roaring sea. Hope is important too, but the people making decisions right now need to see that we are far from okay with it.
So just like the Selkie, we should all reclaim the skin that was taken from us.
