WOW!! WHAT A WEEKEND! Only 5 test days. My first ever car race. P7 across the finish line in Race 2! 3 & 4 oktober – Circuit Zandvoort Mijn allereerste officiële autoraces! Na jaren karting en slechts 5 testdagen in de Mazda MX-5 via de TDB Young Driver Academy stond ik afgelopen weekend ineens op de grid tussen allemaal ervaren Mazda MX-5 Cup-coureurs! FREE PRACTICE – P14 Op gebruikte banden meteen een goed gevoel en een mooie P14. De snelheid zat er goed in! QUALIFYING – P17 Voor het eerst op een compleet nieuwe set banden. Dat was even wennen! Weer een nieuwe ervaring en veel geleerd. RACE 1 – THE FIRST ONE! Alles was nieuw! De opwarmronde, de startopstelling, de lichten, de start... unieke ervaring. Na een incident in ronde1 vlak voor me verloor ik de aansluiting met de groep. Zonder slipstream was het vervolgens lastig om terug te komen. Maar mijn eerste autorace was een feit! RACE 2 – NOW WE’RE RACING! Wat een verschil! Ik voelde me veel meer op mijn gemak in de auto, had meer vertrouwen en kon eindelijk écht de strijd aangaan met de andere Mazda’s! Mooie gevechten, inhaalacties, incidenten, safetycar en zelfs een rode vlag. Genoten! P7 OVER DE FINISH!! Ja, echt! In pas mijn tweede autorace kwam ik als 7e over de finish! Door de rode vlag werd de officiële uitslag bepaald op basis van een eerdere ronde, waardoor ik uiteindelijk als P11 geklasseerd werd. Maar voor mij voelde dit als een enorme overwinning! Na slechts 5 testdagen in de Mazda MX-5 al kunnen mengen tussen een aantal coureurs die vaak al een heel seizoen of langer in deze klasse rijden.. Het geeft me ontzettend veel vertrouwen dat de snelheid er is en dat ik de aansluiting kan vinden! CRASH Helaas kreeg het weekend ook een verdrietige kant door de zware crash van mijn teamgenoten Senna Moorlag en Jack De Cock. Ik ben er enorm van geschrokken en leef ontzettend met ze mee. Heel veel sterkte en beterschap allebei! Hopelijk zien we jullie snel weer terug op de baan! DANK Grote dank aan Tomas & Eddy de Backer en het hele TDB Racing team! Wat een fantastische ervaring en wat heb ik veel geleerd in één weekend! Hopelijk tot snel!

ANNOUNCEMENT ! Superblij om eindelijk te kunnen delen: ik ga mijn eerste officiële autoraces rijden!# Na jaren in de karting maak ik nu de volgende stap en sta ik dit seizoen nog twee keer aan de start van de Mazda MX-5 Cup met TDB Racing. 📍 3 & 4 oktober – Zandvoort | Trophy of the Dunes 📍 24 & 25 oktober – TT Circuit Assen Begin dit jaar zat ik voor het eerst serieus in een raceauto en behaalde ik direct mijn EU-racelicentie. Sindsdien heb ik met TDB Racing verschillende testdagen kunnen rijden en nu is het tijd voor het echte werk. Van karting naar racen op Zandvoort en Assen… Een nieuwe uitdaging, veel te leren en vooral enorm veel zin om te racen! This season I will compete in two Mazda MX-5 Cup race weekends with TDB Racing 📍 October 3 & 4 – Zandvoort | Trophy of the Dunes 📍 October 24 & 25 – TT Circuit Assen At the beginning of this year I got behind the wheel of a race car for the first time and immediately earned my EU racing licence. Since then, I’ve completed several test days with TDB Racing and now it’s time for the real thing. From karting to racing at Zandvoort and Assen… A new challenge, a lot to learn and most of all: I can’t wait to race! Very grateful for this opportunity and to everyone helping me make this next step possible!

Last Thursday I finally got to do what I love again. After three really tough months, I was back behind the wheel of the TDB Racing Mazda MX-5 for a full day of testing at Spa-Francorchamps. And what a place to make my comeback… Eau Rouge, Raidillon, the speed, the feeling, the adrenaline. I missed this so much. Most of all, it just felt amazing to be back. To feel the car, push myself again and enjoy that racing feeling I’ve been missing for months. Karting is still a bit more difficult for now, but luckily the day in the Mazda went really well. That gives me a lot of confidence for the next steps. A big thank you to Tomas de Backer and Eddy de Backer for all the support and guidance, and to Noah Maton for the great coaching throughout the day. I’m really grateful that things are finally moving in the right direction again. So happy to be back. Race 5 GK4 Kerpen Disappointing weekend after a good pace in training. Quali: P17 (class P9) not a good position on track Race 1: P17 -> P10 (class P7) Chaotic race Race 2: P10 -> P11 (class P6) Final: P9 -> P11 (class P7) got pushed off track wich led to losing places and losing the group, and they got no penalty. Overall P7 in class. Very unfortunate result after promising training. Learning from my mistakes and moving on to the next one. Thanks @dfk.racing.team , @gilles_notele50 and @davidfrank5537 for supporting.

Unfortunately not able to join the starting grid coming weekend in Kerpen.😢 Still in recovery mode since end of May. Was still P4 in the championship despite having missed Round 4 already. And Kerpen is my favourite track; 3 years-3 podiums in 3 different classes: Honda 9pk-X30 Senior Nat. & last year in the X30 Senior. Good luck @dfk.racing.team and all others.
