Met the team behind @xperiencexalt at @facetherunway , and their flagship piece is incredible—the fabric feels so high-quality, cool, and effortless. Keep an eye on them as they drop more colors and pieces later this year!

What a beautiful, busy weekend in Greensboro connecting with our incredible community!
On Saturday, I kicked things off at a local Juneteenth pop-up event, where I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the inspiring women behind Xperience X•ALT and spending meaningful time with everyone out celebrating.

Sunday was all about supporting local storefronts downtown. I spent the afternoon chatting with the brilliant small business owners behind Vintage to Vogue Boutique and Terra Blue.To top it all off, we wrapped up the weekend last night at the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Artsfor a spectacular production of Chicago, where we got to mix and mingle with even more familiar faces from the community.

First Fridays at @magnoliastudiosgso hosted by @thebuyblackguide was definitely the place to be on May 1st! ✨

This was my first time attending and I had such an amazing experience connecting with so many talented local businesses and beautiful people in the community. There were so many amazing vendors and I’m so grateful for every connection made that night 💕

A special thank you to my friends @shereerodgers and @malujasmine for showing up to connect with other business owners!! 🫶🏽🫶🏽

@enjoi_wellness — my daughters absolutely loved the body butter 😍

@xperiencexalt — I’m so grateful to walk through life in my couture short set! I felt amazing all Mother’s Day weekend ✨

@prettygifted.flowers — you made Grandma Pam’s birthday extra special with the beautiful bouquet 💐

@5931handmade — the arm candy was EVERYTHING! I wore it all the next week and felt so feminine 💎

@magnoliastudiosgso — Dana thank you for bringing us all together and opening the doors of Magnolias for such a beautiful experience 🫶🏽 I haven’t forgot you said you would visit the studio soon ✨

@iamtemoura — Temoura I’m so grateful to work alongside you and @thebuyblackguide I’m also excited to be a vendor at the @blkisbeautifulbridalshow 🤍 in August!

As moms, we carry so much every single day. We’re constantly taking care of everyone else, making sure everything gets done, and holding it all together. But this is your reminder to pause for a moment and pour back into YOU. 🤩👏🏾

Put that new outfit on.
Twirl around while dinner cooks.
Smile.
Feel the sun on your skin.
Enjoy the woman you are outside of your responsibilities. 🌸

I absolutely love this outfit from @xperiencexalt I had the honor of being introduced to this amazing business last week during the ✨First Fridays✨ event hosted by @magnoliastudiosgso and @thebuyblackguide — and fast forward to the Friday before Mother’s Day… I’m twirling in my new outfit feeling beautiful, confident, and present. 😍🔥

Mothers, you work so hard to care for everyone else. Please remember to take care of yourself too. You deserve softness, joy, confidence, and moments that belong just to you. 💕

This is First Friday at Magnolia. 🤍

The kind of room you feel the moment you walk in.
Conversations that don’t feel forced.
People who show up fully — and stay a little longer than they planned.

Last Friday?
It was one of those nights.

With @iamtemoura of @thebuyblackguide hosting, the room felt intentional and well-curated.
@catchthisteecatering handled the food and brought a great experience to the night.
@flmediaco captured the event so every moment could be shared beyond the room.

And our vendors —
@noexcusesbegreatproductions
Essence of You Accessories
@prettygifted.flowers
@xperiencexalt
@5931handmade
@enjoi_wellness

You made the night what it was.

If you weren’t there… you missed a good one.

But this is what First Friday is.
And we’re just getting started. 🤍

Remember we tried to tell you last month… 👀 First Fridays were only getting better from here.

Well—today’s the day. 💜

The Buy Black Guide is excited to be hosting this month’s First Friday with Magnolia Content Studios—bringing BBG to life with a curated Black-owned business marketplace right in the middle of it all.

This is what it looks like when community meets intention.
When visibility meets real connection.
When you can experience the brands, not just scroll past them.

And listen… come hungry.
Chef Terrance Saunders of Catch This Tee Catering did not come to play:

Caesar Salad
Honey & Roasted Garlic Goat Cheese
Pepperoni & Italian Sausage Flatbread
Chicken & Pesto Flatbread

Good food. Good energy. Good people.
That’s the vibe tonight.

Plus a lineup of creatives bringing their own stories, their own perspective, and their own experience into the room—peep the vendors at the end 👀

Less than 10 FREE RSVPs left.

If you’ve been thinking about coming… this is your sign.

Fashion allows women to take up space, tell stories, and show the world their essence in their own way.

Shoutout to @xperiencexalt for opening that space for women. Thank you for allowing me to capture every moment.
