Our project, organized by the Phreatic organization and led by Peter Gaฬˆrtner, aimed to monitor life forms in Sardinia's Bue Marino Cave System. Over a week, we collected over 30 water samples from various layers and locations, as well as sand samples, and observed cave fauna. Divers became citizen scientists, learning to collect samples and understand cave ecosystems. Watch the full video on GUEtv and subscribe if you haven't already! Diving to the Bottom of the 60m Deep Pool Diving in @deepdivedubai, the worldโ€™s deepest pool at 60 meters, is an adventure that combines technical, mental and physical preparations. These preparations start with a dive plan and decompression plan. Next crucial step is gas analysis, confirming the right gas for our target depthโ€”a standard Trimix mixture of 18/45. Using standard gases ensures the correct mix for the dive without having to calculate MOD (Maximum Operating Depth), EADD (Equivalent Air Density Depth), or END (Equivalent Narcotic Depth), all crucial in technical diving. After analyzing our back gas and decompression stage gas (in our case 50% Oxygen), we gear up and perform โ€œGUE EDGE,โ€ ensuring all dive details and equipment are checked. GUE EDGE includes: โ€ข G = Goal of the dive: Dropping Insta360 to the bottom of the pool and having some fun. โ€ข U = Unified Team: Here we assign roles, such as who is the captain/deco captain, who will deploy the SMB (if planned or needed), or other roles depending on the dive. โ€ข E = Equipment check: An important step ensuring that our valves are open, hoses are not entangled, and our equipment is functioning well and matches with other team members. This step includes a bubble check in the water. โ€ข E = Exposure: Our maximum depth, time, and bottom time. โ€ข D = Decompression: There are two scenarios: if you plan for a recreational dive, your decompression is called Minimum, which serves as an additional step towards safety and caution. The other scenario is a planned decompression (technical dive) where the decompression profile is presented (reminded again) based on our planned exposure. โ€ข G = Gas strategy: The gas strategy we are going to follow (all usable/rule of halves/rule of thirds), the minimum gas for this dive, and turn pressure. โ€ข E = Environment: Presenting environmental factors, potential environmental hazards, current, waves, surge, visibility conditions, halocline, thermocline, water temperature, silt, etc. This thorough preparation ensures a safe and enjoyable dive, allowing us to explore the depths of Deep Dive Dubai confidently. . . . . #guehq #deepdivedubai #guecreator #techdiving

Rebreather Diving with GUE: (Experience during the training) Diving with a rebreather opens up a new world of underwater exploration, offering longer dive times, quieter operation, and closer interaction with marine life. However, mastering rebreather diving requires specialized training and especially time. My first breath during the course when I submerged my head underwater was very weird. I almost felt like I didnโ€™t know how to breathe from it and I tried to exhale into my mask several times until I got the feeling right. :) Maybe this isnโ€™t the standard case, but I really had to think about breathing in the beginning. We tested a few skills in shallow water reachable by foot and then we dropped down underwater. Oh, and let me tell you... the buoyancy! That was a real test of how much I actually used my lungs compared to mastering the wing and the drysuit. What I thought was handled well was put to the test during the rebreather class. ๐Ÿ˜Ž After not relying on my lungs as any sort of buoyancy compensator (not even for minor adjustments), the outcome was even better buoyancy control on Open Circuit! Wonderful! Bailing out became a โ€œhomeโ€ where I felt in my comfort zone again. After a few days, we had our first 30-meter dive. I started feeling slightly lightheaded around 26 meters, which I thought could be very mild narcosis. (I started sensing it after my Cave 1 class when I really got to know the feeling after it hit me suddenly and strongly). The way of breathing from the loop was also something different than I expected. Not as easy and smooth as shallower dives, but thinking about it today (with some more extra dives), it could be breathing below the minimum loop and not the increased density of the air in my diluent, as I first thought. ๐Ÿคฃ I think I developed some paranormal sense of what is happening with my body, haha. ๐Ÿ˜… Overall, the experience was incredible and thank to @sameh.sokar - my excellent instructor who was boosting my confidence, it was also a very pleasant and fun experience. Hard, not gonna lie, but definitely worth it. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Š . . . . #gue #guehq #guecreator #rebreatherdiving #ccrdiving #jjccr #girlsthattechdive
