Happy World Mental Health Day 🌍💚

There are so many fantastic events and campaigns going on today. With schools and universities in full swing, our team is busy preparing for exciting things coming soon. In the meantime, here are some suggestions to checkout:

🎒 Grab a backpack and head out to join @talkingmental on their Walk & Talk. We love joining in too when we're in town, this time HOPE is excited to be supporting in spirit.

💛 Join @youngmindsuk and demonstrate your support for youth mental health with their #HelloYellow Campaign. We love to see youth participation in action and we know you do!

🎛️ Take some time to tune into your own internal needs with some much needed yoga and meditation with super skilled and kind instructors hosted by @ocdahk and @yamafoundation

How else are you celebrating World Mental Health Day? We can't wait to see! 😆

Alya Prasad is a 4th-year undergraduate at the University of Hong Kong. A specific moment in Alya’s university life when she volunteered at a school in Thailand for refugee and migrant students to teach English, drama and dance, made her realize art’s ability to transcend barriers and positively impact people from all walks of life. It not only fueled her with an ambition to join the Education Industry, but to also merge her passions for different art forms towards a greater purpose. She has since co-founded @xrtpeace Artpeace, a global student-led organization and registered charity, striving to use art for awareness and advocacy through educational programs for marginalized communities. In 2021, Alya won the top prize in the 8th Hong Kong Outstanding Prospective Teachers Award and was awarded the 26th Hong Kong Outstanding Service Award for Tertiary Students. These collective experiences have given her more confidence in her aspirations to be a leader in the fields of education and community engagement.

Will we watch on as history rewrites the same stories, each time using the language of a different nation. When the sun finally rises, will we realise that whilst waiting for better days to come, we abandoned our neighbours during their darkest hours.
The sky may weep with us, but all our tears will not wash away the blood stains we have left on the streets
