It’s hard to put Lighthouse into words. 🤍 This was our third year serving at a Lighthouse Family Retreat. A week where we have the privilege of loving and serving families who are living through pediatric cancer. Every year is different. Every year is beautiful. And every year, I walk away feeling like we received so much more than we could ever give. We worshiped, played, danced, laughed, and made memories in the simplest moments. I had the privilege of meeting children whose laughter and joy will stay with me forever. Watching children who have endured the unimaginable simply get to be kids, to play, smile, learn, and grow throughout the week is what Lighthouse is all about. One of the greatest gifts is also watching my own children put other things aside to serve and love others. Seeing their hearts grow through the families they meet is something I will never take for granted. The family we were paired with instantly became family to us. We love our sweet Lily girl, and they gave our family more than they will ever know. We were also blessed by the other families and volunteers we met. We met people carrying stories, challenges, and testimonies of their own, yet still showing up to love and serve. This week is exhausting and beautiful! it fills you in a way that is difficult to explain. God is present in every detail…the laughter, the tears, the new friendships, the quiet conversations, and the small seeds He plants in each of our hearts. We may arrive hoping to be the hands and feet of Jesus for someone else, but somehow, every year, He uses these families to show His love to us. Until next year, Lighthouse. 💛 lighthousefr @daniellemoreland17 @joemoore23 @hoperva23
