This is what happens when you get three separate competition companies together… ā¤ļø

Different companies, different experiences, different perspectives — but one family and one shared love for this industry.

That’s what makes the annual ADCC Retreat so special. It gives us the opportunity to step away from our own companies, come together, share ideas, learn from one another, and continue to grow off of each other. There is something really special about being surrounded by people who understand this industry and are willing to share their knowledge, experiences, successes, and even challenges with one another.

We may wear different logos throughout the season, but weeks like this are a reminder that there is room for all of us to learn, grow, support one another, and make this industry stronger together.

Of course, when THIS crew gets together, there’s also a whole lot of laughing, probably a little chaos, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. šŸ˜‚ā¤ļø

Already counting down until next year…

This weekend reminds me every year why it’s my favorite weekend of the year. It’s so much more than a title competition it’s the friendships, encouragement, and memories that make it unforgettable. Forever thankful for the people who make this weekend feel like home, my heart is so full, and I can’t wait to see what next year holds.

Where do I even start…

I can’t believe ā€œKeep Upā€ will be hitting the stage for the last time in 3 days. If you would’ve told me in July last year everything that this solo would’ve brought me I would’ve genuinely laughed in your face. I have gotten more recognition, opportunities, and gained more people in my life than I EVER could’ve imagined, and I seriously look back and I CANNOT BELIEVE IM SAYING THIS, but I wouldn’t of traded it for the world.

Ciera, from the first day I walked into your class barely 5 years ago, you’ve done nothing but believe in me when I literally had never been in a dance studio in my life. I remember the day you broke it to me this was my solo(yes I sobbed), BUT… I’m kinda a little bit sort of glad it was. The first day she taught this solo to me all that was coming out of my mouth DESPITE THE FACT I WAS DOING IT, was ā€œ I HATE TAPā€ just about every single shuffle šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. In the end though, this solo definitely wasn’t all that bad. Thank you C, for all the late nights, the constant changing of the choreo, but most importantly for putting your faith in me, and being one of my bestest friends. I forever owe it all to you and I hope I’ve done nothing but make you proud.

And thank you to my family for everything you’ve done this year, @yourfavoritegrammie and Grandpa always hauling me to the studio and my competitions despite how far away they are, my mama for the thousands of hours and rhinestones you’ve put 1 by 1 on this costume, my dad for being my biggest fan, therapist, and my medic when I come off stage on the floor, and of course my stepmom for always coming along and cheering at the top of her lungs. I love you guys and I’d be nothing without all of you.

This solo has hit the stage at so many different competitions (even though all of these pictures happened to be at Dance Machine šŸ˜‚šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø), and It’s safe to say I’ll never forget it. I can’t believe I’m putting these shoes on the wall after this weekend, but I wouldn’t change how this year went for the world.

NOW I CANT WAIT FOR TITLE!! I hope the final goodbye for ā€œKeep upā€, and my iconic shoes will be worth it. ā¤ļøšŸ†

What a season

It’s hard for me to find the words to sum up such a season of growth. If you would have told me this time last year that I had even made it to The Dance Awards let alone make top 19 and leave with a scholarship I would laugh in your face. The art of dance is something I will never take for granted and I’m grateful to every single person who took me from a 10 year old with sickled feet, lacking technique, and struggling with rhythm to where I am now. While I am grateful for a season full of wins and accolades I am most grateful for those that came before it. I am grateful for the seasons where ā€œhigh goldā€ or ā€œplatinumā€ were the only things I heard. Those seasons taught me to be patient, and gave me motivation to work harder and set new goals for myself. That new-to-dance 10 year old is still inside of me, and I’m so proud to tell him it was worth it.
