Born Brave with Dricus du Plessis – Crypto.com & UFC

Nobody can explain what it took to pull this off a tight crew of talent and grit to match George the lion and Dricus du Plessis. This branded content piece for Crypto.com and UFC had countless moving parts and logistical challenges.

Two weeks before Christmas, we gathered Jozi’s finest to build a full-scale Vegas octagon in the African bushveld, with George taking time off from mating season. Under extreme heat, thunderstorms, and high winds, we brought to life Dricus’ lion-like persona in his African secret training camp.

A deep, heartfelt exhale and a salute to this incredible team.

Michael Kerman, US Director. Your vision and belief in us were everything. Loved working under your strong leadership.

Julian Redpath, SA Director. Huge talent under pressure. You called every shot with precision and deep connection.

Bruce Buttery (@pangafilms) & Garrreth Bird, DOPs, rock-solid with serious skills.

Gerhard Van Zyl, Art Director, keeping it all together.

Werner Snyman, Art Assistant, always finding a way.

PJ & JP Van Der Merwe, the slickest set builders, family-run with all the soul.

Erin Lionnet, PA, makeup, calm under pressure, great energy. The glue!

WP Haak, Marcus Nepfumbada, Tumelo Nkuna, lighting crew, superb.

Gerrit Van Zyl, Key Grip, the real MacGyver.

Warren Frense, sound master.

Jonathan Pinkhard, BTS, what a presence.

Jen Atkins, you kept us alive with food and hydration.

Jaco Van Rooyen, medic, always kind and helpful. Thanks for keeping us safe.

Shandor & Alex Larenty, lion handlers, absolute legends.

George the Lion gave us a run for our money and finally showed us the money.

Dricus du Plessis @dricusduplessis , a true boere gentleman. Always a pleasure. You deserve it all.

Tarryn Buttery (@pangafilms), SA Producer. Loved working with all of you. Learned and grew so much. Panga Films is proud of this project and the incredible SA & US team that stitched it together.
