My first surfing experience with Xtreme Paddlers @xtremepaddlers 🌊

I always thought surfing was just standing on a board… turns out it’s more like arm day + drowning simulator. My arms were on fire just trying to stay on the board.

Somehow, my BJJ skills kicked in—balance, core, and not panicking under pressure 😅. By the end of the session, I actually managed to stand up surf (what!?).

After 3 hours of coaching and babysitting by Coach Mong, I’m really grateful for the great instruction by Xtreme Paddlers. It totally changed how I see this sport.

Definitely doing this again. Check out @xtremepaddlers at Tanjung Aru.

Surfing is fun—and safe—when done right! 🤙

Closing November 2025.

Ok done mengundi (tryna scratch off the dryness of the blue ink on my finger). Its just been a "packed" month of November, but one highlight I finally get to share is Sub Showdown, my first time organizing a grappling tournament, a collab between @surfandrollmy and @jiujitsu_inthecity.

What started as a casual “let’s do a small comp” convo after training bout 3 months ago turned into a full-blown passion project. And when I say we, I really mean we. Huge thanks to my teammates at @jiujitsu_inthecity - Prof @richie_celestial , "YB" Khai, @rustygrappler @audreydee_on_crack , Rahman, Lloyd. Also my @xtremepaddlers crew, especially Dini, @drey_adriano and @mandakjawa. We all made this happen.

Shoutout to our sponsors @ripcurlmy, and MILO Sabah @milo_malaysia, Persatuan BJJ Sabah President Stephen, and every participant (even those flying in from Brunei!), couldn’t have done it without you

They say it takes a village… and it really does. Big things happen when people come together. And honestly, I’m glad I was brave enough to try something I’ve never done before. Whether it’s competing or organizing a tournament for the 1st time, you just need to take the first step. Can’t wait to see what we’ll plan next.
