This weekend reminded me that hope is never an accident—it is built through people who are willing to invest in the next generation.

My deepest gratitude to Coach Glenn Caston, Ms. Vianne Bell, our incredible Xavier Fellows, mentors, volunteers, and the entire team whose countless hours of planning, encouragement, and sacrifice made the 2026 Magnificent Male Experience possible. What our participants experienced over the last three days may have looked effortless, but it was the result of a community that believes our young men deserve the very best.

Thank you to each of our panelists, speakers, and special guests who generously poured your wisdom, your experiences, and your hearts into these remarkable young men. Your words challenged them, affirmed them, and reminded them that greatness is found in service, character, and purpose.

And to our 100 wild-eyed participants: thank you.

You inspired me far more than you may ever realize. Your curiosity, your honesty, your joy, your willingness to ask difficult questions, and the genuine way you embraced one another gave me tremendous hope for what lies ahead. If this weekend is any indication of the future, our communities, our professions, and our nation are in capable hands.

As the nation’s only Catholic HBCU, Xavier University of Louisiana believes that every young man is worthy of dignity, opportunity, and investment. Whether these students ultimately choose Xavier or another path, I pray they leave knowing their worth and believing they have both the responsibility and the ability to build a more just and humane society.
