Pleinairpril inertia lol. Can’t stop, even when I am on a bbq party. Thx @warriorpainters and @gaia_artproject for lots of inspiration , I Hope it will last me some time!
I used HEAVYPAINT for first sketch(second pic) and then Procreate with my own brushes for finishing up. Idk if it qualifies as background art but maybe I will animate something cute sleeping on the chair one day.

This #Pleinairpril recap! I am proud of myself even though I started a bit late(i totally forgot about pleinairpril) but since I started I tried to not miss a day. I had fun experimenting with techniques and mediums! The last VR pieces were super interesting to make and see in VR space.
Also I was happy to discover @gaia_artproject which is a very wholesome project and art community!
I hope that I also managed to encourage some other artists along the way! Take care everyone and see you next year! (And I will try to be more active in the meantime too, posting other pieces and VR experiments).

VR plein-air for #pleinairpril made in quill. It's a pity this tool is discontinued, one of the most fun ways to make plants in 3D.
Also thx to @d.animator back in the day for the inspo and cool tips!

I was so eaten by mosquitoes, damn.
I love the contrast of strong verticality and horizontality here. Like two different planes are in conflict and balance at the same time. French firsts are beautiful, when you manage to find one, lol. Unfortunately, not that many forests remain. Especially older ones. Gouache, A6.

Today I worked on another work in VR, and somehow managed to corrupt the file. Hours of work were gone. I cried so hard, tried to find backups or anything and there was nothing. As if it didn't exist. Idk how it happened but damn each time I forget to make tons of saves, I get something to regret about. Save your work, kids.

I love the contrast of greens and oranges but i often find that you need to be careful in balancing them, they better always have very uneven proportion of each other, as many colors which are too apart on the color wheel. Anyways, a fun one!

Going again to the place where water falls from the skies. And rocks meet the vegetation. One of my favorite places around.

I am prepping a larger 3D work, can't publish it today, so it's gonna be a short marker sketch ✨

I miss you immensely, Katana. It’s been 2 months since you’re gone and I still cry almost every day. Your sudden departure left a hole in the tissue of my daily life. Everywhere where you used to be now I see just your absence. I miss your silky fur, I miss the way you looked at us as mere peasants. I miss everything about you, even the voice of an old smoker you had when you meowed for food. You lived a long life, almost 20 years. It’s a pity that the section of your life with us was short though. I only got one year with you. I hope you had a nice time with us. And I hope you enjoy flowers we planted on your grave. They are in full bloom. One of them is called Bleeding heart, it is as beautiful as meaningful. Rest in peace, dear.

Life and death, a hard contrast to face. This was a hard one to make. I made it yesterday but didn’t manage to post due to crying so much. But I needed to make this one. During painting, a lot of suppressed emotions came to the surface. I am happy that I have the means to turn the connection we had into art. And plainairpril to me is about the connection between the artist and the subject, so I am trying to make everything meaningful. Every work I made this month is from real memories and places I’ve been to recently or at the moment of painting. This one is the only one from farther past… pet grief is hard, man.
