Do epic shit! Aim high! 2024 Ultra Team Champions! New ultra team course record of 17h:48h! Heck, we were 2nd overall 🤯. My 9th RTO was a special one. We embarked on a new challenge. Instead of the typical 12 man team battling for the win we went Ultra! This was by far the hardest RTO I’ve done. When my buddy Lupe mentioned we should do a 6 man team, we started to explore some ambitious goals, like the ultra course record, this was a little naive as we were all ultra team newbies and majority of our guys are 5k/10k guys. Wouldn’t be RTO without last minute runner additions, a few extra “fun” miles, and a little bit of puking 🤮 lol
Well, my team was tough as nails and we grinded out 6 legs each at a decent clip. I was an honor to chase the record with these studs, I’m was the slow poke on the team! Learned a lot and went to some dark places on some steep hills 😅. Shout out to everyone that did RTO, my favorite part is seeing friends all over the course having fun and kicking ass! Thanks to Race178 and all the volunteers that make Reno’s premier running event possible.
