We asked @rhizomedotorg Commons residents Beck Haberstroh and Imani Thompson their takes on the future of AI and imagination 👀🔥 @n1_abba_fan @y2kbug.zip

Beck spent 10 weeks building @wearealreadygathered at @newmuseum ⚡ the project is simple: find the people most affected by surveillance technology, bring them together in the exact spaces being monitored, and hand them the tools to understand what’s happening to them.

Dig into their project and learn more about the our Creative Futures programming, link in bio ⚡️⭐️

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending Sanctuary After Dark: Legacies of Queer Nightlife: a manifesto on community, partying, and resistance presented by @creativetime and @_bodyhack_ for @10magazineusa

I had the pleasure of hearing stories from Lola Flash @flashnine9 and Alice O’Malley @omalleystudios on what it was like in the 90s to party and work at Clit Club while photographing, documenting, and educating people in the midst of the AIDS crisis when the government failed to respond.

Today, decades later, the LGBTQ+ community is once again under attack from the government, and trans rights are being stripped away state by state. And that day, on the Nowadays dancefloor that same alchemy, transmuting grief into gathering played out again.

Read it @10magazineusa or my link in bio 🙂‍↕️

We spent 10 weeks with 8 artists and @rhizomedotorg at the @newmuseum in nyc and asked them to imagine + build alternatives to current (read: broken) tech infrastructure, putting people at right the center.

The Counterstructural Residency produced incredible artifacts and prototypes all linked by one provocation. What happens if we consider imagination itself as corr tech infrastructure?

Swipe through for snapshots of every project and follow along as we drop more of their work soon. And if you’re curious about our creative futures programming or any Mozilla Foundation grants, hit the link in bio 🔗
