maybe it’s a wild coincidence… or maybe he heard it and got inspired 👀

story behind it:

woke up today to the craziest plot twist of my life… i randomly played Garrix’s UMF 2025 set while brushing my teeth, and halfway through, i froze. he dropped Summer Days vs Quantum. A mashup i made YEARS ago, just for fun, and dropped it alongside my mashup pack.

Note : This mashup was also the Winner🥇of the Quantum Mashup Contest on YouTube back then!

i still can’t fully process this… but maybe it really is just a coincidence. even though the idea’s the same, the way Martin used the vocal was a bit different. so maybe he got inspired by it, or maybe it’s just one of those wild coincidences and he made it himself.

but honestly, even if it’s just pure coincidence, it kinda makes me feel surreal. coz, hey, that just means my brain works like my idol’s brain 😂
we had the same idea… and I came up with it years ago!
Great minds think alike haha @martingarrix
Or maybe… he just saw the mashup on YT and got inspired and made his own version 👀

but anyways it’s Wild. Absolutely wild.

and i wanna thank everyone for supporting me all these years, one step closer!!

Now, Let me know what you think, crazy coincidence or low key inspired? 👇

Now on to the Astonbury Content…

In the days before Astonbury, we had A LOT of prep to do (like a lot). Everyone pulled through to work together and make @astonbury2025_ the best one yet.

As Sabbatical Officers, we’ve been working for months alongside the staff and volunteer teams to finalise logistics, budgets, the lineup for the day, student participation and so much more. Our event coordinator, Thomas Aryton, did an amazing job to get us all organised and and ensure that Astonbury is smooth sailing.

I, in particular, did my best to make sure Astonbury was for the students and delivered by the students. I gave our student volunteers the space to take a leading role in Astonbury. From planning to the delivery of the event on the day, @aset_aston did an amazing job!
