POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This one is for every bloody wound we mistook for love. 🥀

Recently, so many beautiful souls who follow my journey have reached out to share their heartbreaks with me.

I felt your pain deeply.

And I wanted to sing this song for you. For the moments you wonder whether you’ll ever feel like yourself again.

You don’t have to be okay all the time. You don’t have to rush your healing. And you don’t have to carry everything alone. 🤍

Growing up, I used to carry so much anger toward my parents. My sister and I even wondered how we never became serial killers. 🤭

Typical Asian parenting, right?

Those one or two missing marks mattered more than the ninety-eight we achieved. Compliments were forbidden because our parents believed praise would stop us from growing.

For years, I blamed my childhood experiences for everything that didn’t work out in my life.

But becoming a mother slowly changed my perspective.

I began to understand that my parents were shaped by their own upbringing. Perhaps that was the only way they knew how to love.

Understanding where they came from doesn’t mean I have to repeat what hurt me.

And that’s when I realised: I have the power to make different choices.

Our childhood experiences may influence how we recognise love, but they don’t have to decide who we become.

So, after hearing your heartbreak stories, I started asking myself:

🌱 Am I choosing someone because of who they truly are, or because their behaviour feels familiar?

🌱 Am I falling in love with their potential while overlooking the patterns that hurt me?

🌱 Does this relationship bring me peace, or I constantly trying to earn love?

And perhaps the hardest question:

What am I afraid might happen if I finally choose differently?

If these questions touch something tender inside you, please be gentle with yourself.

You are allowed to begin again.

Your life is already colourful. 🌈

May the next person you welcome into it appreciate and protect the light you’ve learned to create yourself.

May you never again have to shrink your heart to make someone stay.

Until then, please keep choosing yourself.

The best is yet to come. 🤍

With love,
CC 💋
