Very excited to announce In The Footsteps of Our Ancestors will be shown at this years Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival! It makes me hopeful to see this film continue to resonate with audiences across Canada. The Sahtú Dene way of life has much to teach us all about how to work as a team, and we must rely on these teachings evermore as we grow as a people. Sales from these tickets will go towards @indigwomenoutdoors - a fellow @mec_nation grant recipient project!👋 @trailsintandem is honoured to continue showcasing this story of Indigenous leadership, on-the-land education and the power of cross-cultural teamwork to more Canadians, set agaisnt an an epic wilderness environment 🏔 @thevimff tickets.vimff.org/2021Festival  #inspiredbyVIMFF #indigenousidentity #VIMFF2021 #trailsintandem #InTheFootstepsOfOurAncestors #mackenziemountains #shutagotine #dene #sahtu #canoltrail #nowallsouthere #NWT #northwestterritories #uphere #northof60 @spectacularnwt #spectacularNWT #tulita #normanwells

Booked flights today for the film tour of ‘In The Footsteps Of Our Ancestor’ - my debut documentary feature with @trailsintandem. In 2017 we hiked through these very mountains with Sahtú Dene and Métis youth, guides and elders on an exploration of the Canol Heritage Trail: one of Canada’s failed WW2 pipeline endeavours that now sits abandoned amongst the many spirits of the land. For those interested in the project, the trailer and the 5 upcoming dates, checkout my bio! Would be stoked if you did. Big thank you to @canoe_north_adventures #ccunesco @canmountainnet and @ualberta for making this home tour possible.
