Here is one of the many rotational exercises we do with our athletes. Set up is easy but the movement is TOUGH. We ask the athletes to lean back enough that you are to about a 45’ or where your body starts to “shake”. Keep the arms as straight as possible and move the please as close to above the chest/head as possible. This isn’t a “one size fits all” exercise. It might look diff depending on how mobile the athlete is through the spine and upper body. 3-5 sets of 6-12 reps are normally prescribed. #strengthandconditioning #football #strengthtraining #core #abs

Here is @weaverjack_ going through a session with us this summer. Jack worked with us a ton this summer leading up to his upcoming football season at @washufootball After our warm up and tissue work he hit ✅BB RDL’s. ✅OVERCOMING ISO’s (Lateral). ✅GLUTE/HAM RAISS. ✅SISSY SQUATS. ✅ECHO BIKE. He worked hard along with quite a few others athletes this summer. Excited to see how he does this year. #strengthandconditioning #strengthtraining #football #collegfootball #legday

Strength Training is “The ability to lift heavy stuff over and over again then break your opponent in half”. At least that’s what it says in my dictionary. Here are some of the college and high school athletes getting after it this week. Shoot us a PM if you want to join in on the FUN with us👊. #strengthandconditioning #football #strengthtraining #motivation #athlete

Programmed this Pinch Grip Curl in for a lot of our athletes who are in this summer with us. This is nothing new and in fact I was shown in the mid 90’s. If done correctly and strict it-is-very-challenging. We are doing 5x10 as the set and rep scheme this week at the tail end of the session. Want to improve your PINCH GRIP and catch a PUMP give these a try💪. #strengthandconditioning #strengthtraining #football #grip #biceps

Single leg (SL) lateral elevated squat. Also known as “OUCH”. Here are some of our collegiate football athletes getting some LOW reps then holding an ISO against some resistance (DUMBELL). This can be a “nice” progression into a program after some weeks of Lateral Lunges and Copenhagens, at least that’s how we programmed it. We ask the athletes to get as low as they can week after week working on keeping the elevated leg as straight as possible. Just another tool in the FUn tool box💪. #strengthandconditioning #strengthtraining #football #motivation #exercisetips

Here is @gabby_thompsonn getting a reactive neuromuscular drill with us today as part of her training. This @kuathletics soccer athlete is very gifted and did very well with it her first time. This drill combines balance, proprioception, hand-eye coordination, visual tracking, and reaction time. Gabby has to make sure to stabilize while on the PVC Pipe all the while processing an unpredictable visual stimulus (cards) and responding with coordinated upper-body movement.”
This is an excellent way to challenge the nervous system before training, especially if the goal is to improve body control, focus, and athletic reactivity rather than simply “working on balance.”
This drill is nothing new to us we have been doing this drill for YEARS and YEARS. We learned this from some AMAZING S&C coaches way before social media was here. Give it a try and let us know if you have any questions. #strengthandconditioning #soccer #strengthtraining #motivation
